I don't think I have ever been so excited for a game, besides the state game last year, as I am for tonight's Clintwood/Burton game. I had trouble sleeping last night cause I couldn't quit picturing Robinson, Robbins & Co. layin a lickin to Coleman, Miles & Co. I hope they freakin play tonight cause I can't wait any more.
It's the kind of game that every kid wants to play in. I am sure that the Burton fans had visions in their sleep too,of those burners flying down the field and into the endzone for 6. I hear folks saying that this is over-hyped,that they will meet again this year,but nothing is guaranteed. Best of luck to both teams.
There is a good chance that they will meet again, but anytime the LPD title is on the line there could never be too much hype.
I said it before and will say it again Neather Clintwood nor Burton can overlook Haysi (While I think that both Clintwood and Burton should be the clear Fav in a Haysi matchup the Tigers are an improved team and are VERY good at attacking a teams weakness with some wild formations

As far as tonight goes there is nothing to look ahead to except an LPD championship banner.
Each player on both teams is going to lay it all on the line tonight. Nobody cares about Haysi, nobody cares about what is going to happen at Carl Smith come November. This game is all about an LPD championship. It will be 21 years and coming for Clintwood. It will be an emotional night for everyone.
I agree Counts. I think Haysi would have a better chance at competing with Burton in an offensive shootout.
I'm so juiced right now I can't sit still. I had to go to the DVR and find the Clintwood/GC game. I can just see tonight's game being just as intense and definitely as loud.

You're just not saying much cause if Clintwood wins you can say "See I told you Clintwood was gonna win." You don't wanna get too excited just to be disappointed. Win or lose, us Greenwave fans are gonna be proud of our guys just as much.
I thought Clintwood was atleast Co-Champs in bout 98 or 99?
I mean why on earth would someone not get excited over this game?

If its "just" HS football then why come on the forum in the first place?
I mean 80% of the activity on this board pertains to HS football in some way, so if its "just" HS football, then aren't you wasting a lot of your time?
I'm very excited about this game, too, but I think finding a good seat is going to be very tough. I'm going to probably go down there about 4:30-5:00 just to reserve a spot ASAP. It's going to be a pretty crowded one I expect, and the fact that the Kelly/Appy game was played last night won't help things, either.
And you're "just" a Raider who could care less who wins, or so it seems.
In America, we have laws. Laws against killing, laws against stealing. And it is just accepted that as a member of American society, you will live by these laws. In SWVA, there is another society which has it's own laws. Football is a way of life.

I expect that there will be some huge hits by both teams. the team that walks out the healthiest wins. No matter how much speed we have it will be hard to run the ball when the CW d-line is in the backfield. we have to hope for our o-line to step up huge tonight and give our guys enough time to make a few plays. On D, we will have to step up huge to handle the physical play of CW. This game could go either way but I think in the end the winner will win by 2 TD's
