I agree a salary cap is needed, but the Yanks are not the only ones offering obscene amounts of money.

He carried the team to the playoffs on his back the year before last and after this year he'll have one. Only people that are pissed are the fans of teams who won't pony up the dough to help their team, see the Braves. Sell tickets, get money, get some good players...until then, no one should be bitching about the Yanks.

If it wasn't for him, they wouldn't have been in the playoffs...the rest of the team choked too, they didn't step up and everyone lays the blame on A rod...he performs and gets his team to the playoffs, the rest of the team steps up and they win. If they win, more people show up to watch...more tickets and merchandise is sold. Even though the Yanks didn't make it to the playoffs, they still sold out the stadium because of it being the last year. The Yanks win (not so much the past few years) but the win, thats why they have money.
