Why I Defend R13

when he first started posting, i was all over him, about the stupidity he posts, etc...
because the [censored] does get annoying, and he refuses to admit he is wrong.

but then, [censored] started to happen, people would seek him out jus to try and start [censored], the mods obviously dont like him, etc..
i can relate to the mods thing, i have had my fair share of problems on here, the word censorship is ridiculous, i cant say gd in a thread without getting banned for a couple days.

you guys attack the poor kid, and then act like its all his fault

YOU are older than he is, be the adult, let it go.

if you dont like his posts, theres an ignore user option, he was on mine for a long ass time.

I dont like a lot of what he posts and if I can attack it, I will. Notice I said attack it, not him. There is a difference. Now making a comment about TO not being a cancer to a team and comparing that to his Stan Wilson gym thing is not attacking him but the hypocrisy that he has.

And yes, some of the adult members on here do bait and attack him, and some of them are on very thin ice. That being said, its Christmas and the holiday time, amazingly not everybody is on here that much right now.

Now then Biggin, censorship is the restriction of right of free speech but just like you dont have the right to go into a theater and scream "FIRE" without suffering from it, you have restrictions to post on this forum. You tell Bob and them if they dont like it to leave, well the same goes for you. Those are the rules. Now we are pretty lax on them most of the time, and lord knows all of us slip sometimes, and I think we go beyond giving lenency most of the time, especially to someone who has posted a lot of information, or had good debates.

Simple logic is this, if you can't have a discussion without having to GD everything or F-Bomb this or whatever, then the problem isn't with everybody else, its you. The point of being able to have a discussion board is not to just come on there and curse people out but to discuss.

If you say so and so sucks and say why then you are viewed a lot more intelligent and people give your opinions just a bit more sway than someone who just says so and so is an F'ing dumbass motherfranker g-d idiot.

Simply put though, the rules are in place, to join the board you agreed to them. If you have such a problem with them, there is an amazing feature that allows you to logout. We all get mad, trust me I get mad having to deal with this stupid stuff every so often, everytime someone comes on and there is definitely times I would like to come on here and drop a big F-bomb on you and others [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img] I can tolerate someone getting mad and saying it, but to type it requires a bit of effort and then even after you type it, you have to click a button to submit. That requires not only the ability to be pissed off, but then the lack of respect for those of us who try to enforce the rules. Take it this way, you're coming into my house, I'm fairly easy on things, heck turn the tv channel to what you want, belch if you want to, shoot go to the bathroom and flip through a playboy thats laying there if thats what you sant, but don't come in, go through my drawers, cabinets or whatever, and then [censored] that you don't like whats there. When we go to your house, if you want people to be able to take a crap on your floor, then thats fine for you but I dont want them to in my house lol

Weird attempt at logic but I'm scatter brained but maybe someone else can explain it better.

Unbelievable. You all are fighting over a kid who gets on this board for the sole purpose of irritating others. The only trash talk he gets, is the same trash talk he has given others on here until they just finally gave it back.
It's impossible to have an intelligent conversation with him. Just ignore the twit, and he will fade away.

I hardly reply to his posts for that very reason. If I want to argue with a wall, I can do that. I don't mind someone thinking they know everything but I hate someone who can never be wrong.

Some of the people on here don't and they bait him, no question about that.

Then we have our martyrs who can't understand that when you are in someone else's house, you at least respect their rules or you leave, its as simple as that.

It's amazing how much power people give to some words. On radio, they'll bleep out piss but not b*tch or "gd." Which would you rather have your kid saying?

I don't reply to him much, I do aggravate him from time to time but I do think it's ridiculous how some on here treat him. It's like anywhere else there is a double standard, and I understand that I'm probably on the good side of that double standard at this point but R13 and those who support him are not the same as everyone else. Just ignore the kid for the most part and he'll be fine. He's a better man than I am, if I got talked to on here like he does I would've had personal conversations with some of you all, (I have previously). It's worse than high school girls on here sometimes.

Personally, R13 isn't my most favorite poster. Far from it. He even admits that he brings some of it on himself. He doesn't listen to reason very often, but then again neither do a lot of other people on this board. Sometimes other people just like to ruffle his feathers.

He's not my favorite poster but he does have just as much right as anybody else to post here.

And Big, though my language isn't always the greatest, this is a public forum and just like any other public forum they've got rules about it. If you have to use profanity every other word in public to get your point across then those in charge have every right to chew you out for it or censor you.

Actually, I am trying to cut back a lot on saying some words as simple as "sh**," "b*tch," or "damn."

You know something, formermemberwhowedontdiscussanymore was right, this board is divided in a bunch of different cliques. The older I get the nicer I try to be to people from everywhere, I love sports and knowing people from everywhere allows me to get more enjoyment out of my hobby through information. Were all the same, Shooter is conservative as hell and I think to much so he thinks I'm to liberal but you put us at a PV Basketball game and we can talk for days. The same can be said about all of us, I've met most of the people who can post here and there all good people, respect each other and their views. Go to a basketball game in Wise County, and for the most part both boys and girls from different towns will sit converse and be friendly with each other even though they are so called rivals. Maybe we adults could learn something from the children.

Well said. When I talk politics on here, I don't take any of it to heart. I repect everyones views, and know, it in no way makes them a bad person. In fact, if people didn't have differing views, this would be a very boring world. For every view we have different, i'd bet you have the same amount of things in common.
Like PVFAN said, I lean way conservative, and I think he is more in the middle leaning slightly left. But when you get past politics, we both have a passion for sports, and gambling, haha.
Can't we all just get along WHILE we argue politics (where most of the bickering begins)? Its a discussion, NOT a war.
I think once all the Obama stuff calms down, so will things on the board.

well said Biggin about R13. We have alot of the same views, but I don't defend everything he says or even does. I like the guy, I'll be honest. The way he is treated is all that bothers me, but that was already discussed in this thread.

i remember a time when the forum was crazy. back when Jim was the admin... i miss those days. It seemed like there was a big argument somewhere on the forum everyday and it usually ended up with someone gettin a one day ban to cool off.

You're right. Bobby may not have been able to "articulate" what he was meaning to say very well most of the time. But he was right.

No its just a personal thing that I dont like. I mean we could tighten it up like it was and ban all the variations and keep adding to it but that gets ridiculous. It's just something that never have liked and most people do consider it more offensive than other words, not everybody. If you want to PM someone with it, more power to you, just prefer not to see it. Unless someone just says it to say it, most of the time it probably slips through the cracks honestly.
