longest streak between LPD teams

what is the longest consecutive losing streak between 2 LPD football teams?

My guess is the PV-Pound series, Pound has not beaten Powell Valley since 1985, does anyone know 1 that goes back longer?

I know that teams have skipped years playing each other and then started playing again. Like pound has not beat gate city since 64, but Gate City left the LPD soon after and pound did not play them again until 3 or 4 times in the 80's, then the 2 teams didn't meet again until GC came back to the LPD most recently.

pv also beat kelly 16 straight times, 83-98

but if PV beats pound this year it will be 24 straight years, is there any longer than 24 years straight?

yeah I haven't forgot. and Kelly hasn't beaten PV since that 98 game either, am I correct?

Wow, where were you last year? ;) Kelly beat 'em last season 30-20 at Bullitt Park.

I remember the 85 pound team. I still think this has to involve Kelly And PV. Pre 98 win

I always like the point total between Burton/Kelly the past 5 or so years, it's like 100+ in Burtons favor of course. Glad I was in HS while we've had our good years, hate to have went to Pound during that time :)

From 83 to 98, PV beat JJ Kelly all those years. In 1999, PV was favored by everyone to beat Kelly like a drum. Though there was more talent on the PV team, JJ Kelly came to play that night. PV didn't, which resulted in one of the biggest upsets.

196-16 in previous 5 years from my count, I might be off by a few but I think that is right. A lot of hype has went into the Burton/Kelly game the previous 3-4 years but not much to show for it.

Point totals dont mean squat in streaks. If they did maybe norton could have carried a few points over to use in all those state losses. A win is a win and a loss is a loss. Burton has beat Kelly 6 straight times. End of story.

Nobody said it did, R13 just pointed out that the point spread in the Burton/Kelly game was 100+ in the previous 5 years and so I gave him the total. End of Story

And I don't think a Wildcat fan has any room to talk about win streaks in Football over anyone that I am aware of in recent existence.

Streaks come and go my friend. When I played we had plenty of streaks....

Lost to PV 4 years in a row
Lost to CW 4 years in a row (If I recall all 4 by less than a TD)
Beat JJ Wise 4 years in a row
Beat Coeburn 4 years in a row
Beat Pound 4 years in a row

I believe PV also beat Coeburn 23 times in row counting 2 playoff games between 1970 and 1990

so PV has had;

23 straight against Pound (85-current)
23 straight against Coeburn (70-90)
16 straight against Wise (83-98)

thats impressive

They had a pretty long one against Burton as well I think, not sure of the years. It may have been like 10 years could be longer, I know we had a couple of upsets in there every once in a while.

When did Pound last beat Clintwood?

Looks like Clintwood had a long one over Pound from 88 on and 18 straight from 70-87.

It was 02 or 03 I think.

i found the old lpd report but it stops at 98.

Clintwood had a double digit streak against Burton till they got one 3-4 years ago. It was about 13-15. There were a lot of good games in there though. Most were less than a td but Clintwood always seemed to win.

The schedules on Gman's site go back to '01. That one plus the other gets most except for two 2 years (99-00).

Just looking quickly back through it the longest I saw was Gate City by 9 from 62-70 then they didn't play again until the 80's.

The only others I saw that were of any significance was Clintwood by 8 from 73-80

Burton has had a couple of 4 win streaks and the rest are not any bigger than that from what I saw but I just skimmed through it.

I just went through PV/Burton to see what the series total is and it was advantage PV of course 31-15-3
