biggest news today comes from mma's Strikeforce org.
it seems they have agreed to let M-1 co promote with them, therefore fedor is officialy a Strikeforce fighter.

I actually like this signing. They have a couple good fights for him. Strikeforce is a very solid organization, and they have a very good card coming up on Showtime on 08/15 headlined by Carano/Cyborg for the womens title.
i feel bad for them for two reasons;
one is that fedor has killed every other promotion that has tried this, i really hope this doesnt happen. i like the organization, he does have three potentially decent fights, overeem, werdum, rogers.
and two, when he runs thru those three fights, whats left? if he just beats all three in a minute, then leaves, where does that leave strikeforce? completley in disarray.
but im jus glad he will be fighting in the US soon.
will they give him overeem first"? jeez i hope so, if alistar will fight him.
So, is Fedor a bit skittish of the UFC and what fighters they have to offer?
I know M-1 wants to co-promote, but that'll never happen with Dana White.
I love Fedor and his fights, but I'm really tired of watching him walk through lesser competition, and I really don't think Strikeforce has anything to offer him.
I believe he is more than just skiddish. Strikeforce has no real challenger for him other than Overeem and I don't see him passing the drug test. Rogers has a punchers chance and Werdum will be so scared he will lose before it starts.
Could it be Fedor's/M-1s intention to destroy the competition? They took out Affliction promotions, now trying Strikeforce? tear down everything and leave them and the UFC?
It sucks he is signing with the lesser fighters.... UFC would've proved so much more for him.
I dont think he is Skittish. He destroyed one ex UFC champ wich I never thought much of anyways. He did have his hands full with Arlovski until eh knocked him out but I don't think Fedor is skittish I don't think he has anything to prove.
Fedor doesnt need the UFC to stamp his legacy on the sport. Who is he going to fight other than Lesnar or Couture? He already beat ex champs Sylvia, Arlovski, and Nog. Now that Strikeforce is going to co-promote with the japanese org DREAM, he will have plenty of decent fights. His legacy will not be determined on whether or not he fights in the UFC. He sealed his legacy in PrideFC.

strikeforce has no one, besides him and werdum.
rogers is still very green, and we have seen no form of ground game from him.
JDS was able to KTFO werdum, fedor would do even worse.
the UFC heavy's are 10x better than anything SF, DREAM, etc.... has to offer

with the apparent biggest contract in MMA history offered fo Fedor, he almost HAD to sign on the line, but he didnt.
i do not think he is scared per se, but i think his handlers are. if Fedor loses, his auroa is gone, he is just another great fighter. that kills all their money making possibilites
and why do people think overeem is so great?
he hasnt fought a top 20 HW since werdum two years ago.
he basically was handed the strikeforce belt
and its obvious he is on roids, you remember the overeem i remember? he was a LHW.
I would still like to see the Barnett / Fedor Fight.
The thing is though, Fedor's following isn't huge. Unless you are a die hard fan, not many people know of him.
He needs to step up and fight the competition, SF has nothing that will stand in his way. Easy pay day.

and jones, the barnett fight has lost its luster tto me, because for one itll have to be in japan, and if barnett was to pull the upset, the steroids would mean to me he cheated to win

You still have Overeem, Barnett, rogers, Werdum, Monson , Antonio Silva just to name a few he can fight outside UFC

i would love nothing better than to see fedor in the ufc, but for me, imo, i still believe he is the #1 hw and actually believes he doesnt need the ufc

Rogers-knocked out a good fighter, AA, but it was a flash KO, he has proven nothing except he hits hard. lets see him try some grappling first, fedor will not just stand and trade wit him.
Barnett-steroids. end of discussion. if fedor fights him, the US fans might turn on him for good.
Monsoon-i like monsoon, but he isnt a top 15 HW right now, hes fought roy nelson and jimy arbriz? his last two fight, haha. yeah great wins
antonio silva?-just a freak show fight, like zulu and hong man choi

shoot add Gabriel Gonzaga and Kongo, the UFC HW division is stacked compared to the rest.
Fedor will never fight in the octagon, M1 will not let him.
Fedor may beat the competition in the UFC, but that's just it... it will actually be competition.
Dana White put the nail in the coffin when he said that Fedor will destroy the "regional" shows Strikeforce puts on.
I love Fedor, he's great... he just needs to go somewhere, that he actually has to put in a good training regiment to compete with the competition.
Okay couture is what 45 Nog may be slipping past his prime. All god fighters without Argument but all the fighter's mentioned outside of the UFC are also good fighters. LOL at Goodridge its been a while since Ive heard him mentioned as one of the top. Also Arlovski is outside the ufc. While he has been knocked out twice that doesnt make him a bad fighter I think is head is somewhere else at the moment. He did look really good with Fedor.Quote:

Lensar - sure. Obviously an interesting fight.
Couture - another interesting one, but only if he beats Big Nog.
Mir - this one wouldn't be that interesting to me. Perhaps its just because I've never really liked Mir, but I just don't see him as elite. Pretty good, and a bit above the likes of Gonzaga and Congo, but not elite. If Mir beats someone very good in his next fight, then I'll change my tune. But I don't think Fedor-Mir is a great fight.
Carwin - I see Carwin as very similar to Brett Rogers. Its an interesting thought, but I think Carwin has a lot to prove yet. As does Velasquez, who I think is being pushed too fast.
I don't see guys like Kongo and Gonzaga make for worthwhile fights unless they put together some impressive wins. Seeing Fedor fight someone like Werdrum is a lot more interesting to me.
