UFC 101 after results
It has been spread out. Maybe we can discuss it on one thread.
What is next for Griffin? What should be next for Silva? I doubt Dana was foolish enough to let him go. Walk around weight Silva and Fedor would be bad ass.
I think they both walk around at 230 or close. I would rather see Fedor fight near his weightclass.

Re: UFC 101 after results
nah anderson doesnt walk around that heavy, hes 210 tops
id like to see anderson/rampage or anderson/rashad, both would be great fights.
but most importantly, he needs to fight GSP!!! if GSP is willing to add the weight, anderson will fight him.
you cant ask anderson to cut to 170, it would be un-natural.
they could fight at 180. i would pay my weight in gold to see GSP/Silva
im pretty sure his next fight is henderson or the winner of maia/marquardt.
BJ's next fight is Diego Sanchez

Re: UFC 101 after results
anderson has three fights left on his UFC contract iirc

GSP has no Business fighting Silva. Silva walks at 230 at times. You can say he don't. But even if he walks at 220. Why would GSP need that fight. GSP doesnt need to prove ****. That would be way to much. A 155 can fight GSP and a 205 can fight him to? NO GSP should ONly fight his class. If Silva can drop more power to him. If your the champ challenger come to you.

Re: UFC 101 after results
that is the lamest arguement i have ever heard.
thats gsp nuthugger logic
its called a superfight, two of the greatest fighters at a time competing.
let them fight at 180, GSP walks into the octagon at 180+lbs, whats the difference between silva walking in a MW fight weighing 195 bs. and he does not walk around 230 pound he never weights that much
silva has to add muscle weight to fight at 205. forrest was way bigger than he was, he walked into the ring around 215, maybe 220 id say.
anderson is a champion too, theres no champ contender crap in this.
two of the most dominant champions of our time, that only fight 15 lbs apart, shouldnt fight, why???
you love Fedor, he should be laughed at for fighting MW matt linland then?? babolu? LHW
GSP will NEVER be remembered as highly as Silva if he does not accept this fight.
and it will be known that GSP is the one that turned down the fight if it doesnt happen, Anderson has said he would fight whoever they brought in, if its GSP or Rampage.
and how could you say GSP is as great a fighter that Silva is if he refuses to do the same? he will not go up to fight silva? then he is not near Silva in terms of legacy and pound for pound rankings.
i cant believe you are saying this fight should not happen, it would be the greatest MMA fight of all time!!
i cant fathom any fighting fan not salvating over the prospect of these two fighting.

Re: UFC 101 after results
Anderson walks around at 220 or so. If he and GSP both win their next title fight they are to meet at a catch weight.

Re: UFC 101 after results
The blond girl in the vid came with a heck of a shot.

Re: UFC 101 after results
Yeah, Monkeyhead is right... Anderson walks around at 220, maybe 225. He cuts weight to fight in 185, so he is actually a pretty big middleweight on the day of the fight.
GSP actually doesn't have to cut much weight to fight, he's not as big as the majority of Welterweights.
GSP wins...and Silva wins again...it'll be a super fight.

Re: UFC 101 after results
Silva gets as big as 220 right after the fights, but he has said he never gets above 220. he has been quoted as saying when he begins his pre fight training he is arund 215 lbs.
he is a bigger MW, but it isnt like he is the only huge MW.
Franklin is a big MW, so is Marquardt.
GSP walks around at like 185 lbs. hes not the biggest WW, but he is up there. hes not a small WW by any means.
but any real MMA fan is dying to see these two guys fight.
I for one think Silva will dismantle him, GSP hasnt faced a striker that is near as great as Silva.
Alves hit hard, but he is nowhere near the level of striking of Silva.
GSP would struggle mightily trying to take down Silva, GSP is usually, not always, bigger than his opponents.

Re: UFC 101 after results
I forgot to mention this;
the rumblings are that possibly Silva vacating his MW title and moving up to LHW full time.
this kills all GSP/Silva talk, but makes the Machida/Silva talk pick up ten fold.
Silva says he will not fight Machida, but Dana White says he will make it happen.
I for one do not see it happening. Machida and Silva train together, and both respect each other to the utmost degree.

Re: UFC 101 after results
i have no idea, you should know
lol
j/k

Re: UFC 101 after results
The Machida vs Silva fight will never happen.
Silva will not vacate his belt, he'll attempt to hold both before that happens.
He only has a few fights left, and then he is retiring. That's a smart move on his part. Do all you can, and still get out before getting too damaged.

Reports came in and Griffin was fine. He actually left uninjured, except for his pride.

Re: UFC 101 after results
he will have to vacate his belt, because of the UFC champion clause in his contract.
as long as you are the champion, you cannot leave
but machia/silva will never fight, they are training partners and both have stated they will not fight.
machida said he would 'consider' it for $100 million haha
-
Re: UFC 101 after results
I would love to see the GSP / Silva fight. But he would be giving up to much wieght.
A kung le Silva fight would be pretty cool.

you can't leave, but you can retire as the champion. That's the difference

Re: UFC 101 after results
Penn left as champion over a dispute with Dana.
-
Re: UFC 101 after results
he was the reason for the champion's clause
it wasnt added until he came back from japan
they stripped him of the belt, penn took the ufc to court to hold on to the belt but was unsuccessful.
-
Re: UFC 101 after results
If Silva moves up to full time LHW then Dana would vacate the MW belt and have a fight between the top "contenders" in his opinion for a new champ.
I would not be surprised if you see Silva/Couture down the road at 205. Would be a huge fight for the UFC. Randy is a UFC "legend" and Silva is, argubably, the best p4p fighter in the world. Couture held the LHW at one time.
-
Re: UFC 101 after results
ed soares, silva's manager, said the reports of telling dana he wants anderson to stay at 205 are false. he said silva is def. not gonna vacate the title, and will fight at least one more at 185.
silva/couture would be very interesting, but im not sure randy can offer that much of a challenge. he beat chuck to win the LHW title the first time by taking him down and g'n'p, but anderson's ground game is miles ahead of chuck's.
i could see randy coming in for a TD and getting kneed into oblivion.

Re: UFC 101 after results
that one fight will be against Henderson....Silva needs to fight Okami, he's ducking him! lol
-
Re: UFC 101 after results
haha, ive heard hes ducking everyone from okami to marquart/maia
i would like to see him destroy okami, when people see it as a Silva loss, they dont realize he got DQ'd for knocking okami out with an upkick lol
