There's no reason not to be confident. The kids got a 3.7 average. Has never been in any kind of trouble. This whole investigation was over money that was raised by the community that he lived in for him and 13 other D1 kids to go on a multicampus tour of D1 schools. Out of those 14 that were on the trip, 1 was questioned. It was because he was the # 1 recruit in the nation and because of all the hoopla that came from his recruitment. The NCAA said that he did nothing wrong and that they were just investigating what happened to make sure there were no improprieties. Might he get into something in the future? I guess, sure, but there's just as much a chance that it could happen to Tim Tebow, Nukese Richardson, Julio Jones, Jevan Sneed, or anyone else. There was never a chance that he was going to be denied playing college football. The NCAA said the worst penalty he could have gotten if they thought he'd done something wrong would have been to have to repay the money that was raised for him and to miss at maximum 4 games but more than likely 1. The NCAA also said that at no point was UT in any danger because of anything that was done during his recruitment, nor was any school that recruited him.
From everything I've heard he's a good kid, a good student, and the other players love him. They said during practice yesterday that Kiffin got the news of the NCAA's ruling. During one of the breaks in practice he announced it to the team and supposedly they all applauded and hugged the kid. A far cry from the "cancer" he was depicted as being by some on here when he signed.
Just wait until Oku steals some carries from him, and maybe even the starting job. If there's one thing that came out about the kid from his recruitment, it's that he is a MAJOR drama queen.Quote:

If he does play this year, he won't have that big of an impact. Arthur was a 5* player out of Kansas too, and he's just now probably going to see significant time on the field this season. Why? Because even though he was talented, he didn't know the schemes and was fundamentally unsound. Even though RB is easier than MLB, I expect the same to happen with Bryce. He'll get hit and go down a lot easier in the SEC than in Kansas HSFB, I guarantee you that.
Good luck to the kid, I just think he's very talented, but very flawed character-wise at the same time.
Herman already gave him a welcome to the SEC type moment and he got up and went about his business like he should. Both and Oku have looked good so far. Both will get some touches early behind Hardesty as well, probably quite a few this coming Saturday against WKU.
Yep. Don't know if you or heard about that or not Brad, but before they were even in pads Herman Lathers blew him up in practice and he ended up with a concussion. He never missed a practice. As for Oku, they're room mates and in their words "best friends" and from what's been said by him he doesn't care how many carries Oku gets because he can't have them all. As for "If he does play this year, he won't have that big of an impact.", that's rediculous. He's already running second behind Hardesty, you know the guy who's never made it through a season because of injuries. He'll end up starting more than likely before the year is out. I was ragging on Bryce's character flaws when he was still a Cane commit. I didn't like the way he handled his recruitment (or better stated: the way Brian Butler handled his recruitment) at all. He came off as a primadona and only out for #1.
Now, if the kid grows up and remembers team first, then I'm wrong--and I hope that happens because it's always good to see character catch up to high-level talent, so you've got a good player and a good person on your team. But I'm skeptical. We'll see how it goes.

Sounds like it got exaggerated some. It was 1 hit that was supposed to be non contact and he fumbled 1 time.

We didn't learn a lot, but we did find out that they could in fact put a finger in their ass without having to use both hands and a road map. Last year the score of this game would have been 17-10 with 2 minutes to go and WKU driving to score and tie the game till Berry made a pick.Quote:

I think UT did exactly what they wanted coming into this game which was get a team who went 5-7 some confidence, especially Jonathan Crompton. So I am super pumped with the outcome. Plus you had your best QB prospect in attendance in recruiting so he got to witness exactly what he wanted to see which was the ball being slung around and points being put up on the board. So I couldn't be happier with the outcome of this weekend, hopefully we can keep the momentum going this weekend and get some payback on the Bruins from last year.
