Steve Gadd makes me so happy to watch, he just pours his heart and his whole body into every single stroke. That makes him look and sound so compelling.

Steve Jordan makes me crack up too. What a damn player! The guy is out of this world, but I pray he won't get back problems from the way he hunches over...

Jeff Pocaro used to move his top lip up to expose his teeth, which made me crack up, but playing like that, who cares!!!

Carlos Vega was a dream to watch. Like Weckl, there is absolutely no wasted motion at all. Every stroke had its place and was placed with authority, and soul...

Rod Morgenstein's facials really make me laugh but I dig the way he puts his soul and energy into his playing.

I look like an idiot when I play, facials and all, but I like to think it's because I'm playing with every part of my life that I can...

Yeah, I look pretty humorous when I play as well (at least, that's what my wife says). But hey as long as you're having fun it doesn't matter what you look like.

I make a lot of wierd faces when I play and have the pictures to prove it, but I cant help it.

I tend to have the very serious and intense look when I play (kinda like neil peart)....sometimes I try to play with alot of emotion and some funny faces come out of it, but for the most part, I'm playing my best when I'm very focussed on what I'm doing.

I look like the Indian from the Village People.

I don't remember graduating from the Eric Clapton School of Face-Making---but it must've been with honors!! [img]rolleyes.gif[/img]

Yep, that's me at Avery Fisher Hall (Lincoln Center) during the Vinnie and Weckl trades with Chick Corea.
I 've since had securitly check for that sock to no avail.

Actually, the camera always breaks when I play or the photo comes out too dark or a finger is covering the lense.

What people have told me is that I look like something smells bad.... ( Probably Does ! )

I haven't had a picture of me at a gig turn out in years. No kiddin. Like a Vampire I guess.

Geez.........I can't tell you all HOW many times I've had people I know come up to me after a show and say, "You make the weirdest faces when you play." Because we're all into the gig, we can't tell we do it......until watching a tape of it. The band I'm in did a little spot on a local tv station that was aired, and after watching the video of it, I could see what everyone had been talking about........kind of embarrassing.....but hey........THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT IS.

Rod does indeed make some whack faces...
...& Blade, Carlock, Covingtomn, & GBiss each look peculiar at times...
Neil & Weckl must've practiced extensively in front of a mirror & had seen some faces, as it seems they've learned to keep that sullen, & sometimes stern look [not "Mike's" [img]wink.gif[/img] ]...
Vinnie makes those strained, going for it expressions, esp the 1 where the tip of his tongue is sticking out; surprised he hasn't bitten it off by now [img]wink.gif[/img]

Bissonette has such a wierd style. It looks like it hurts him to hold the sticks. He looked and played great on that ELO stuff tho.

But when I see him play heavier rock stuff, his right hand is just so funked up looking that he's gotta have tendinitis or something.
