Im still debating the Mir fight. I think He is overconfident in his striking and may try to stand with Kongo. He's has bragged a lot about his striking after the Nog fight.
Yeah, Kongo becomes clueless when it goes to the ground, and against Cain he didn't look like he'd improved his ground game much at all, if any. I think that if Mir successfully gets this one to the ground, it'll be over in a jiffy. For some reason I don't see Mir having total success with his stand-up, though. I think the Nogueira fight made him a little over-confident with his skills in that area and that if he tries to push that on Kongo, he'll end up on the receiving end of one of Kongo's hard punches similar to the two or three that he landed on Cain. Those punches could have very easily resulted in a knockout had Cain not had such a remarkable ability to recover quickly!
I think the Mir/Kongo fight is the one I'm looking forward to most, as bizarre as it sounds. I'm anticipating it even more so than the Florian/Guida and Penn/Sanchez fight, although I can't wait to see B.J. and Diego tearing away at one another. That's going to be one hell of a scrap, either way you look at it. Lots of exciting fights on this card, I think.
Its worth noting that Kongo has never been submitted in his career.
Mir made a lot of comments saying he was gonna stand with Kongo, I really hope its true, I am taking Kongo.
Buentello/Struve are putting on a great fight to start the show off.
That was a pretty good fight. The punch while struve was trying the flying knee was nice.
Guida is really pumped up holy crap. Even more than usual.
**** florians elbows are like razor blades
Guida's cut is really deep. That looked nasty.
****! that right came out of nowhere....florian looked good
Can anybody give us a rundown of results so far?
heres the prelims....

Matt Wiman def. Shane Nelson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Johny Hendricks def. Ricardo Funch via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-25)

main event so far...
struve beat buentello by majority decision
florian beat guida by rear naked choke in the 2nd
fitch beat pierce by unanimous decision
Mir just destroyed kongo.
well that didnt take long....mir rocked kongo and then put him to sleep...literally
Mir landed a huge left hand that sent kongo down. Then put him to sleep with a guillotine. Took Kongo a few seconds to wake up so he seriously was out.
Hum maybe Mir's stand up is that good after all.
penn dominated the 1st round imo.....great standup
Sanchez has nothing on Penn. Can i change my pick now? lol
The UFC has no lightweight that can compete with Penn. No wonder he wants to move up and fight.
Off the top of my head i cant think of any lightweight who can compete with him.
outside of ufc...you have kawajiri, aoki, alvarez, hansen
the only one you listed that would have a remote shot in aoki, yet BJ would kill him standing.
tonight was as one-sided as Ive ever seen a fight. bj took what, less than five punches the entire night, while totally dominating the stand up, hitting diego hard a lot.
BJ Penn with head kicks??
unbeatable at 155
