WTF do people just send their relatives thoughtless junk?
I hate this holiday. But I enjoy giving gifts. I put thought into the gifts I give. It's like a slap in the face or a kick to the nuts when people give me crap into which they didn't put a single thought.
Yay for shitty gift baskets that will end up being thrown away.

A gift should be given from the heart, not the billfold. I'd say, if the gifts are given from the heart, then you shouldn't complain, even if they are shitty. Gift cards, to me, are like saying, I really don't give a crap what you get, and this is all I am willing to spend on your sorry ass! But then, that is just my opinion.
Example of how Christmas is becoming about greed rather than about giving or joy. I'm really to the point where I don't ask for a certain thing.
I have a very limited budget. I can't afford to get everyone the coolest gift ever. I still try to get my parents, 6 nieces and nephews, and my 3 sisters and their husbands something. That should mean something.
I learn to appreciate what people give me for Christmas. Even if it is some "shitty" basket.
My family decided several years ago to stop the crazy 'obligatory' gift giving amongst us, and now we just buy for the kids and dogs. Not a single complaint from any of us. We enjoy it more this way, and so do our wallets and sanity.
