Is this the half time score? On the southwest board they are reporting that Castlewood beat St. Paul 23 - 10. Some low scoring ballgames.

St.Paul held the ball the first 3 quarters it was crazy. It was 2-2 after 1. 6-4 at the half. Castlewood hit a 3 in the 3rd to go up 9-6 anf just let saint paul dribble out the last 3 min of the quarter without even getting a shot off. In the 4th st paul started actually running their real offense and castlewood pulled away.
St. Paul should have just stuck to what they were doing, as long as you have the ball, the other team isn't scoring. Sounds like Castlewood has some **** poor D, eventually you catch on, bad coaching and/or pure stupidity sounds like what happened.Quote:

ill tell what's up with the low scores. its not because these play great defense. these teams just dont know how to score. its sad too. ive never seen such bad basketball.

Well no it didnt really work they still trailed the whole game. It got to the point that Castlewood had a 3 or 4 point lead and then just let St. Paul hold the ball until they turned the ball over.Quote:

By 3 **** points, C-wood had a better offense, anyone with half a brain knows keeping the ball out of their hands was a good idea...in ANY game, ball control is key. Hold the ball if the other team will let you as long as you can, something will open up. And I don't really care if so and so didn't shoot 20 times their last game, big deal, looks like their coach had them in a good position going into the 4th...but those great scores couldn't convert when it was time to :rolleyes:

It was a smart move by Damron to employ, and it was smart by Rasnick to not force the issue. You dont want to force giving up drives to the hoop and committing bad fouls when its not necessary. If you are behind, then sure you have to push them out of ball control, but not unless you are behind. I remember RC beating Appy and Coeburn one year that they were overmatched playing a 4 corners offense because Appy and Coeburn both forced the issues. RC had one quick guard who started gashing them, drawing fouls or dishing off for easy baskets. I think RC shot 30+ free throws each game because of it.
Looks that way. I always pull for the LPD team, but I've been thinking since about mid season that Castlewood was the team to beat. They seem to be real well balanced. Even though they don't have anyone over about 6'4" I bet the average height of their top 7 or 8 is more than any other team in the region? No one under 6'2" is there?Quote:

Yeah I would say their average height might be more than anyone in the region. Bush is 6'2, Rasnick is 6'3, Smith 6'2 or 3, Justice 6'2, Puckett 6'2, Fields is probably 6'0, Allen is 6'2 or 3, Kennedy is 6'4, then you have Collins who is the other key contributor on the team and he is only 5'10.Quote:
