No one went?
Did we ever look at M11 cards for the Essentials?
Not yet but we should. Survival shaman anyone?
Linvala seems decent. Shuts off opposing dorks.
Fauna Shaman is solid. More fragile than the enchantment. Doesn't beg for immediate inclusion.
Frost Titan.... sure does suck.
I think Garruk's Packleader is subtly good. Most people aren't going to notice you drawing a card off it every time you cast a creature. Probably not Essentials good, but it looks mighty fine if you're on a budget.
Leyline of Anticipation. Orrery is broken. Every time I play it I am reminded of this fact. A second one that can be played free once in a blue moon, might not be a bad idea.
Primeval Titan is without a doubt the winner in this set. A space needs to be made.
Sun Titan is solid. I wouldn't mind trying to find a spot, but wouldn't be overly upset if I couldn't.
That's it.
Find a spot for PT, consider doing so for Sun Titan and Leyline.
Didn't you already decry that as highly over-hyped? I assume there was also an implication that it wasn't good enough for inclusion in the Essentials.
Yes to Time Spiral. Better than Magus? 5 mana slowness... okay. Fair enough. I'm willing to make such a switch.
If I would have seen this active I would have jumped in earlier. I'm in total agreement with dropping the Magus for Time Reversal. Lately whenever I play, I don't enjoy waiting for the Magus to rid his summoning suck. Everything else, as Aaron stated, I'm in agreement with. My only argument would be that Primeval Titan is too much, but who cares now? The proxy-ness of 5-color is amazing!
Yeppers, paying actual dollars for these cards would make me a bit more wary. Proxies seem to rule though. Just have to look for a good drop for P.Titan.

Thank you, but what to the **'s mean?
Does anyone else feel that Elspeth is a bit light in power, for multiplayer, for this deck?
I think that's where I would put Sun Titan
In play, I've found Elspeth to be decent. Her early abilities are innocuous. Very easy to overlook. The ultimate would be amazing to pull. I mostly put her in because Jason has been saying we're undervaluing planewalkers. I wanted to give a couple of the better ones a shot to make sure we haven't been doing so.
I know I'm going to get reamed for this, but I think Forbid could go. If there were more counters in the deck I see it being good, but only as a one of two hard counters (if you include Draining Whelk) I don't find it to be worth it.
Great, she's a Luminescent Angel without the Angel part. Whoop-dee.
Better PWs that are not in your deck would be:
Ajani Goldmane
Sorin Markhov
Liliana Frekin' Vess
perhaps Nicol Bolas
Sarkhan Vol
The Kitchen Table #320 ? Planeswalkers and Multiplayer, by Abe Sargent - a Magic: the Gathering Multiplayer article
I feel that Sarkhan Vol would be the next candidate after Liliana.
Dear Lord. I'll to some looking into what should be dropped and what not and get back to ya.
Remember, in just a few weeks we are going to start debating the merits of cards like:
Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon
Venser, the Sojourner
and more to be revealed over the next few weeks
Wow, Skithiryx is pretty badass.
Or the awesome amazingness of Sunblast Angel
Are you referring to the same card I am?
http://sales.starcitygames.com/cards...blastAngel.jpg
Agreed, she begs for abuse since it's not a cast ability. It's an Abe 187 special.
Sure am. Seems like I'd be holding that in hand forever waiting to hit a creature of goodness like Akroma the Red. I feel you'd be more likely to take out a couple elves. Sure, you're getting an advantage, but not a big one if the creatures are shit. So, you'd be likely to hold it waiting for the perfect opportunity. In addition, the creature the ability is attached to isn't that impressive. That's without thinking about the indestructibles like DSC. Now, if you have a way to abuse it, that all changes. One Erratic Portal makes this a lot better.
It's mass removal that will NEVER hit your creatures. It will take out those creatures around the table that people have been attacking with. Play it, sweep the problems, and you have not hurt your board position one iota, ever. Not, it may not be reliable at taking down every problem - like your DSC or a creature that is in Tawnos's Coffin, or untapped defensive creatures you want to swing through or vigilance creatures - yeah, i get that. But there are so many creatures that aren't.
This is the sorcery this card remind me of:

Note that you don;t gain life, but you do gain a 4/5 flyer - certainly pertinent. It may be outclassed by 5/5's and above, but a 4/5 is no slouch, especially not with mass removal tied around it. Mass removal that does not ever kill your own creatures.
Two more cards tody athat are super hot for multiplayer and in the running are:

Genesis Wave is awesome!
can you imagine molten psyche in an Underworld Dreams deck?
