Lead off double by Infante followed up by two terrible at bats by Heyward and Lee. I'm kind of surprised Heyward didn't bunt. This series figures to be very low scoring an early run would've been huge.

McCann then works the count full only to strike out on a ball that bounces. Golden opportunity missed by the Braves.
Giants get two baserunners but sandwich a double play in between them. 0-0 after an inning.
Lincecum may have found his groove; he just sat the Bravos down in order in the 2nd.
yeah, i dont expect either team to put 6+ runs in any game honestly.
thats why the double getting wasted is huge.
boy Pablo sure does love to chase that low outside pitch
Pablo will chase anything thrown up there. I could throw a ball with a 50 foot string on it, tied to my wrist and Pablo would go after it.
Lowe pitches awesome to work out of a jam after ANOTHER error by Conrad, the error machine.
still 0-0 heading into the 4th
Losing Chipper hurt, Prado was murder.
This. SF is their best match up though. SF can't score either, these games will be one run games where anything can happen. Somebody who knows more about ATL than I, do they have a defensive replacement for Conrad late in the game? No way I would want him out there in the 9th.
They have a couple of options. One (and he may start at sometime) is to bring Glaus in at 3rd and put Infante back at second. The other option is Dior Hernandez. He's a MI who is pretty slick with the glove. Had Prado not been hurt, he probably wouldn't have made the postseason roster IMO.
Lead off hit for Posey (best young player in the game imo).
i figure hernandez in close, late game situations. very good with the glove
not a big bat, but can def. play the field well
Posey steals second as Burrell K's.
Posey was obviously out on that steal after seeing the replays
Why not at least "pitch around" Sandoval? He may get himself out.
WTF?!?!
Why walk Pablo there?
That was definitely the wrong call. Im almost surprised Pablo didn't swing at one of the intentional walk pitches.
Pitch around Pablo, because it may keep Conrad from having to make a rushed throw. It gives more options on where to get your out at.
why not just go ahead and walk both and pitch to Lincecum?
well Infante gives up a run
Now Ross singles to give SF a 1-0 lead. Very dumb move by Cox imo. Not only did he walk the free swinging Sandoval he turns the Giants lineup over.
ATL's defense has been atrocious in the first half of this game.
See I agree with you there Biggin. Might as well have walked Ross too, and was something I kind of expected.
Take Lowe out. He's thrown them outside all evening.
wtf DJ??
no, that would be very very bad
Lowe has been good all night, Infante has to make that play or they walk both and get to Tim.
just bad coaching there
ha quit stealing my thoughts
Conrad, I swear that error was ridiculous. No reason should Infante have missed that grounder.
I was planning on a 3-2 Braves win so its still in play. :P
I wish there was a little different trajectory on McCanns contact a few minutes ago.
Blown call costs the Braves a run, maybe MLB will enter the 21st century at some point?
Braves not working the pitch count on Timmy enough
This is looking like TB/TX game one; Rays should have got Lee in the first and the Braves should have got Lincecum in the first. He's on his game now, time to step out, lay down a bunt, do something.
Lincecum 65 pitches after 5 = uh oh for the Braves. He could pitch three more innings and bridge the gap to the best closer in the NL.
at least take a few pitches every at bad instead of hacking away at the first pitch. gotta get him outta his groove or its over
Heath Bell has something to say about that, he had one less save than Wilson and a slightly higher ERA but blew two less saves and won 6 decisions.
Wilson: 3-3, 48, 1.81, 5 blown saves, 90% saves
Bell: 6-1, 47, 1.93, 3 blown saves, 94% saves
I'd take Wilson but that's me. Bell lost a big game in the last week of the season that helped the Pads miss the playoffs. BTW, I hate watching the Yankees play.
