Can someone give the power point formula. I know a little bit of it but not all of it.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...
but i believe it's like this
for every single A opponent...you get 16 if you win, 4 if you lose
AA...you get 20 if you win, 8 if you lose
AAA...you get 24 if you win, 12 if you lose
Then for your opponents...
you get 2 points every time an opponent who you have beaten wins (i.e. J. J. Kelly gets 2 points each time Coeburn wins)
you get 1 point each time an opponent who has beaten you wins (so J. J. Kelly get 1 point for each of Clintwood's victories).
That may or may not make sense...haha. but I can explain further if it doesn't. hope that helps.
For some reason I am thinking that you get more points for playing a higher division team than just the class. I am not positive about that though.
Why hasn't anyone done the power point rankings after ever week like in the past?
not yet.
I've gotten tired of running ratings too early, when they don't mean anything.
I'll be posting them tomorrrow, after I reconcile them with the official numbers, which were released this morning but are way off because the 8/20 games were left out.
The simplied formula is...
12 for playing a AAA team, 8 for AA, 4 for A, then 12 more for each win.
2 for each win by a team you beat
1 for each win by a team that beat you.
Thanks guys.
oh, yeah, then divide by the # of games played against non-private schools
(in case someone only has 9 games, which I can't rem. happening in Reg. D since the Erv-Phelps mess some years ago, or someone plays a private school, like Pocy playing Roanoke Catholic some years back).
I always forget that since I don't care about the average until the end, and everybody plays 10 games that count, so div. everyone by 10 just moves the decimal 2 places.
I hate having to go look through other sites to find stuff. Too lazy i guess haha I'd def. appreciate it if someone would post them on here when you get them :2thumbsup:
There's a guy who posts this on VA Preps every week who goes by glennrivers. I think he does a good job and it's easy to see and compare everyone. He only does C & D, but right now I guess that's the most anyone really needs to worry about.

So according to that sheet if the playoffs were to start today:
D1
4 Castlewood @ 1 Clintwood
3 Hurley @ John I Burton
D2
4. Virginia @ 1 Gate City
3. Powell Valley @ 2. JJ Kelly.
Thats right aint it?
It'd still depend on who wins the districts but going strictly by #'s, yes.
I've been doing some studing on all this and here what I have come up with.
Clinch Mountian
Gate City will be CMD champs
Lonsome Pine
Cwood is in the driver set. They beat JIB and there the Champs.
Cumberland
Thomas Walker or Coeburn could be Co-Champs in CD. Of course that's if both of these two teams win there final CD games. With TW holding the tie breaker between the too. So lets say TW looses one of there final 2 games and Coeburn beats Castlewood that would give Coeburn out right champion and Automatic spot in D2.
Black Diamond
If Hurley beats Honaker this friday there in the drive set of the BD.
Of course there are other senerios that could happen in the CD and BD that could change everything.
