Does anyone know what happened? His last facebook post was just 10 hours ago - was on his way to his school bus run & then Huddle House...

According to the Asst. Principal at WPS's fb page, he passed out at the bus garage today. He has internal and external bleeding in his brain. He is in critical condition at Holston Valley.Quote:

He's always been a good dude here on the forums.. Terrible to hear that this happened to him.
He always has been pretty wise all the time I've talked to him.
I just heard about this. Man, my thoughts and prayers are with him. I know what he is going through.
From what I can get, he is pretty touch and go right now....
This is the message that I just got from someone who just visited him in the hospital. "They are trying to get the blood thinner out of his system to see if his blood will clot in the brain where he is bleeding. If so, they may be able to avoid having surgery and they are optimistic he will be OK."
This is good news. Let's continue to pray from Retiredteach!

As a child, I had the pleasure of knowing his brother and as an adult I've gotten to know retiredteach. Both are quality men, I hope he has a fast and speedy recovery. He's a fine representative of this area.
Probably the only person on here I have never had any inclination to argue with. Wish him all the best and a blessed and speedy recovery.
If this is true, then they are giving him fresh frozen plazma and Vitamin K. When mine happened a few months ago, that is what they did. I went through virtually the same thing he is going through right now. It is not fun. Brain bleeds, or for that matter, any type of bleed while on the type of blood thinner he was taking is a very serious matter. I hope that he is doing better.Quote:

"Update on Eddy Giles--no change from yesterday. Still in the medically induced coma. Today is the day they expect his brain may start to swell. They will keep a close eye on that. The nurse said the 3rd day is always the crucial day. He is still stable, but critical. Thank you all for the prayers and just continue to pray. We all know the power of prayer."
no swelling on the brain, that is a good thing, otherwise no change as of 3:30 pm.
I had Retiredteach in the seventh grade. When I started teaching and coaching he always offered words of support. Hang in there we are praying for you!

His son told me this afternoon, no change and are inserting a feeding tube this pm. Keep prayers coming !

There was a posting on facebook earlier that the Dr.'s put a greenfield filter in him to help stop the clots from forming in his legs. I have one of these in me and believe me, they are a life saver. Other than that, there is no change.

any word on RT?
The reports I'm getting say there's little change. Most change is to his respiration rates, and that is improving.
Any improvement is good news. Sometimes the healing process goes slower than we like. But it's a start and I pray it continues on to full recovery.
Any news on him lately?
