How long was it out this time? Also what's the deal with the screen thap pops up when you try to post a new thread?

Can someone in the "know" explain what is happening with Hostboard???

It seems that someone could explain the 'down' time that everyone has been experiencing..

Ask a mod, they should know, maybe.

You would think there would have already been a response to the down time.

One message given said "upgrading server" the next one said "adding another server" and as for the down time after that, no clue.

But those messages were from Hostboard??
Seems there should be communications from administrators of the LPD FORUMS.

I dont know that Hostboard communicated with Rock or anyone else in mod position to be honest with you.

I guess that explains most of the problem then,, lack of communications..but I would have thought a sticky or something could have helped us..

The server has been really, really slow today and still is. And of course you're always guaranteed plenty of downtime each and every week. I sometimes wonder why I even bother with this crappy board anymore. It's not like there's much discussion to be had, anyways.

Go to the forum that LPDFTBL uses. I garantee if you disagree with them(mods) or the "chosen" few, you get a quick and rapid response.

What forum is it? I didn't even realize they branched off and created another one. :lol:

And yet again, the forum was down for several hours. I don't think I will be sending money this month.

the server sucks! I've never received any info on why, or when there will be down time. They don't communicate anything.
This needs to be moved.

Bump... down again all morning.

My old shortcut doesn't work, had to go in and search for the forum until I found it and create another shortcut.

Same here. There used to be thousands of registered users here. Probably a couple hundred or so would post in a year. Now there might be a hundred or so registered users and a dozen or so who post. Thanks Hostboard, you ****ing suck.

This whole Hostboard issue has finalized my decision to leave this board for good. I've been debating it for quite some time due to lack of topics and discussion on here. Very good posters on this site, but its no longer worth the hassle.

I think this recent "crash" just finished off this forum, at the very least it took a big hit and it couldn't afford that.

If that ends up being the case guys...then let me say right up front that it's no fault of Rock nor the rest of us mods. I don't mind to step up and say we've done our best, but via the limitations of the software--there's not much else we could do.

If anyone says otherwise, I hope those with half-a-brain realize how wrong they are.

Maybe try a reliable host? I know I never see or hear of any problems with phpbb that the Cumberland forum uses.

Vb as a software is a very stable platfom. Unless things have changed, and they could have for all I keep up, Vb doesn't host. If they don't that would require buying the software, not cheap, and paying for a new host. Even if they host I don't think it'd be cheap with my limited knowledge of Vb.

OK, how long did it take today for anyone to be able to get online.

I got on when you did. Had enough time to go to the help desk and add to the complaint thread then it was down again till now. And i went back to the help desk to add another complaint

I think Hostboard hates morning more than I do.
