I soon will be able to listen to my latest project. I have the 805 wood horn coupled with a GPA 399. The 416 is in an appooxamately 8 cu ft. enclosure. Damped with "Roxul". I hope the pictures come out.

Looks good, I like the color of the baffle.
What was the inspiration for the port? How did you lay that out to a particular area, given the non-standard shape........ there's no simple formula for that, that I know of.

A friend (Speaker Man 57) suggested the oval just for something different. I used a compas to make a pattern. The top and bottom of a larger arc squashed together to form the football shape. I thought it was close enough to the oval concept. Square inches of the port considering the woofer (416B) and the cubic feet of the enclosure (approx. 8 cu ft.). I used the method described in the Altec documentation for
tuning the port, it ended up a little small so I had to add a small extension. All made with Baltic Birch. No nails were used. Only glue and clamps. All seams sealed with silicone. Roxul for damping.
The horn is from CH Audio Design. It is made of basswood and coated with 3 coats of shellac. I liked the color so I used the same on the baffels. HF driver is a GPA 399 crossed at 800HZ. All drivers and XO are 16 ohm. I drive them with my McIntosh MC240 and MX110 preamp both tubes. I still need to do some tweeking as the 399 is a bit over the top for the 416. Still, I like what I hear. I'm sure once all the new gear gets broke in it will be amazing.

Yes, love the look of shellacked wood, though don't like its poor liquids protection. Wasn't aware anyone was seriously marketing wood multi-cells. It would be interesting to compare theirs with a cork damped original 805.

The horns are a work of art. I see that CH Acoustics offer a few different models of multicells and are able to accomodate a range of drivers. Those must sound excellent.
The horns are the centerpiece of the speakers. Carlos, is truely a craftsman. The horns and throat adapters appear to be perfect. They are also cork damped. I was a little sceptical at first, but they are truely amazing. I do not have the instruments other than my audio oscillator to do any measurements. I wish I did.
GM is so close, only about 2 hrs away from me, I wish I had his expertise to really evaluate the entire system. I still need to do some room acoustics. I feel very comfortable with the horns, but I would like some advice on bass bin response. I only have an audio oscillator as I mentioned so any help would be greatly appreciated.
