I don't understand that at all. they are going to go buy turff shoes for one year? the region games will not be played up there anymore, correct?
I would say they will play there until new school and field are built. I would also guess that they are there due to the cost that it would take to change all the JJK stuff (another awesome side effect of this bungled consolidation :)
All that is fine, I understand them playing at UVA-Wise because of the consolidation issues. It kinda makes you wonder what the other 2 schools are gonna do for their home games. Is the new Union High School gonna play at Bullitt Park and is the new school in Coeburn gonne play at Coeburn?
Change what? Anything that was painted ON the field last year should be worn off by now. If not, spend $10 for a can of green paint. Any signage can be taken/torn down or covered up.Quote:

Actually the new turf that has just been installed there will ease that issue I would assume (pvfan can give us more detail on that). I am not claiming to be the resident expert on why we are playing at UVAW and never claimed to be in that post. Nothing but a guess there. I asked my son why and he had no clue either. At the end of the day who gives a rat's rectum where we are playing? 2 teams 1 result no matter where they are. At some point,if a team is lucky enough to advance deep into postseason,you may see turf anyway so may as well get a feel now :)
any idea what the mascot is going to be. the first thing to pop into my head for warriors is an indian, which I don't see happening but I could be wrong.
No clue,but would rather see a gladiator type warrior. An Indian would rub the folks from Pound the wrong way,but then again with Eastside being the Spartans who knows?
With the new turf installed you won't have to have turf shoes. The field is just like grass. The field is very nice. If you all get a chance you should ride up and see it

Maybe they just wanted to. It really shouldn't matter honestly. So many bitch and whine at having to play there,but it is a great facility (so much better than the HS ones no doubt),and the kids are very excited about playing there.Quote:
