How does everyone look so far? Number wise, and intersquad scrimmage wise?
Can someone explain to me the new playoff system? I have read and heard that the new system will be like "march madness" So, where will the teams play at? Such as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, rounds and etc.
Teams seeded 1-16 in east and west, east is old region a and b west region c and d. 1 will host 16, 2 host 15 etc until you get to what would be semi finals and what ive read it is cross seeded then is that west 1 will host east 2 west 2 travels to east 1, then winners meets in finals in salem.
Guess the lpd doesnt have anything. Got to see Unions uniforms, so original, pretty much miami's U with Chicago Bear colors. They couldve done better. And in the picks you can see that pv's lockroom is still light blue. If union is all big and bad lets hear what they have

Union has roughly 55 young men who have been hittin the weights all off season and busting hump pretty much harder than both previous programs have in the past few years. they have gelled real nicely this summer and should be a real nice program to follow
Thanks Unionfan thats all I wanted to know but some pricks on these boards piss me off. I was wanting to know cause on the cmd forum someone said yall had around 75-80 kids.
Big and bad? It seems to me you're the only one who carries that attitude. Last I checked, we know very little about Union and haven't seen them play. I've witnessed more fascination with and interest in the Union program than bragging or claims of being the next best thing. I think if you ask nicely rather than slamming the Lonesome Pine District and Bears right off the bat, you might just receive the information you're seeking.Quote:

Word out of Wise is that many are unhappy with the coaching situation and some blame Pound with this issue IMHO if Central finises in 4th place in the LPD them things could get ugly in the offseasonQuote:

Norton should be the pre season favorit comming into the season and would have PROBABLY got ALOT more press if not for the Union and Central situation
Clintwood IMHO should be on par with last seasons team but I do not think that they will have the depth that they did last season which will hurt......That being said with there schedule being what it is they should be well prepared for a deep run into the playoffs
All in all I think that it is a no brainer to say that all 4 LPD teams will make the playoffs but I will go a step further and say I think all 4 teams will make it past the 1st round as well (with even money that all 4 are still in after 2 weeks assumeing they do not get matched up with eachother)
I hope gc and central play a little bit this weekend.
Luckily the kids aren't worrying about a few disgruntled so-called adults. The kids are very fond of Jay and are busting their asses for him and will be ready to play. I really do believe this squad will put it together and do well. Sometimes the "grown-ups" should take a hard look in the mirror and realize they are embarrassing themselves by acting as they are,and they could stand to learn a lesson from the kidsQuote:

The problems wont come now. They'll come when Bobby Joe from PV is starting over Jimmy Joe from Appy or vice versa. It'll take at least a 4 year cycle to get all of those dolts out of the program and out of the stands to where Union can really be united.Quote:

The 2nd scrimmage, IMO, is where you should test the limits a little to see exactly where you need to improve before the opening game. Honistly Burton never looks very good in there scrimmages it seems that every year there is a thread started foretelling there downfall.......IMHO we will have to wait till week 1 to see how thing really are with Burton
I believe both of those bad snaps were during the 2s playing. 1s on 1s was 2-1 Castlewood I believe. But, its just a scrimmage.
Im not giving Central a Chance, simply because its not like 2 schools with Good Football Programs were added together.
Two teams with Sub-Par Football teams were added together. So anyone outside the Central Warrior circle can't imagine them being anything better than a sub-par football program, especially since the best thing going for J.J. Kellys football program (their coach) is now out. Considering the Size of the School they should be LIGHTYEARS ahead of where they were. Its early but think the LPD will go out like this

Central 6-4 (0-3)
If Central Stays within 2 or 3 touchdowns of any of the other LPD Teams Id be suprised.

I also heard yesterday that some of the latest talk is that SP's K-8 could be closed as early as next semester due to low numbers. They have dropped from 230 some to 195 and is expected to drop even more. That's 22 kids per grade, they are down to one teacher per grade level in most grades. Good point about D2. If it does put them into D2 then that's a different story. If it doesn't I still think it will be a big boost to them. They got Edmonds, Hileman and several other of S.P.'s better players according to the article.
Not 100% sure, but I believe I've heard Dickenson Co. Schools will all be combined for the 2013 year? Would someone be kind enough to confirm this if possible? You hear anything when you are at the work place. Either way they are gonna be Double A, at the VERY least D2 rating so these next couple of years really don't matter how many come from the Pound.
I don't know what the cut-off is, but they would only have about 850 kids I believe, I think that would be only double-A if that.
And Cwood really isn't going to be effected that much, sure they get some of SP's best players, but they aren't the most talented team. Both of those schools were awful compared to even our worst LPD teams, not sure how much better they would be even if all of the kids transferred there.

Maybe I'm more lost than usual, but 230-195= 35. K-8 is 9 grade levels and 4x9 is 36? So they lost 4 kids per grade, which is about what everybody expected. I wouldn't think that would close a school.Quote:
