SO finally stopped reading and looked into my office today. He said, "Okay, so why is it that you have two large manuals laying on the floor covered with two bricks each?"
I was compelled to offer the story of Ekans getting loose and putting him back in the tank [including the part where I "almost" cut off the arms of the couch.] Okay...he DID raise an eyebrow on that part.
It's all okay now, though. There's NOTHING to worry about [except maybe the guys in the white coats].
I've let Ekans fool around with the frontroom in the last few days [although watching him closely.] He can't seem to find anything UNDER the couch that suits him. I haven't waited to see if he finds anything IN the couch. He DID crawl around some photo albums under the end-table next to the couch, but THAT didn't interest him, nor did going into the kitchen.
THAT was enough for a day, so I put him back in his tank, where he promptly crawled under his log.
I'll figure it all out in time.

Don't hold back now, Cornboy. I figure you've got some REALLY good confessions just dying to be revealed. [I really HAD never intended to tell him about the thought of cutting open the couch.] I hadn't intended to tell him about exploding the eggs either, but there was a piece of eggshell caught behind a blind in the kitchen that he saw, and the fan on the refrigerator was making a noise like a piece of paper had been caught in it, and I said, "I doubt it's paper. It's more likely eggshell" and I was CAUGHT!
I don't know about being saintly, but I do know that he likes me BECAUSE of who I am and how my life turns, rather than IN SPITE of who I am and how my life turns. I don't think he wants a life where each day seems just like the last or the next.

"Cornboy"?!?!?
Term of endearment??
I had to laugh at that one......

You tease. You put up the flashy, heart eyed icon, list the topic as confession and this is it?
I thought you had something really juicy that you were going to let loose with and its the snake again? I am deeply disappointed with you. False advertising - I'm going to complain to the Better Business Bureau!
I figured the business about Ekans and the couch was bound to come out sooner or later. The reaction by your SO seems significant. Apparently he is used to hearing bizarre tales from you. The man must be a saint.

God dammit, Anita, I'm with JBT. I suffer thru a time consuming download thinking there will be hot stuff, and I get this!

It's a confession thread, Peter. Do you have something to confess? [Geez, one would think that some of you live vicariously or something.]
Term of endearment??
You betcha.

I have lusted after women in my heart... and, boy oh boy, is Rosalyn PO'ed!

Awwww, I've endeared myself. It's the Costner thing isn't it?
As far as living vicariously. You betcha. Easiest way to get cheap thrills and less costly too.

It's the Costner thing isn't it?
You don't want to ask this on a "Confession" thread, Cornboy. Let's just say that I have dreams sometimes of "goings on" [as Lucky would say] in the cornfields of Iowa. Does it really matter if it's you or Costner?

I'm speechless.
Remember Anita, we'll always have Des Moines.

It seems that Ekans is NOT a boa constrictor. [I didn't learn this until this week.] It seems that he's a "Ball Python". He's still of the "constrictor" family, but won't grow to the size of other constrictors, and has a friendlier nature.
I spent some time with him today, both on the couch and in the TV room. He REALLY tickled me in the TV room, as he went exploring a shelf on the TV unit that had VCR tapes lining the shelf and the whole thing fell over under his weight throwing him off onto the carpet [top-side up]. Heh.
Since #1 told me that he was a "Ball Python", I've done a few searches, and "Yep...that looks just like him."
I got a Christmas card with a letter today from my cousin [well, his wife wrote the letter.] She runs a Herpetology Simplified thang somewhere and is now raising her own rats to feed the snakes, selling the excess to the pet store. I think they're in NM.
There's a thought there, I'm SURE.
Maybe it's genetic.

Anita, I think you need to get out more.
------------------

I can't, DA. I'm a "bug-eyed", leftist, on the list of the FBI. SO and I MAY go to a theatre today [nice dark place where no one will notice my disguise], but other than that, my contact with the outside world is through couriers who bring me instructions and the few internet fora I visit.
True enough, it's a lonely world during this phase of my life, but SOMEONE has to stand up and counter the right-wing atrocities, as well as put reptiles in their proper place in the animal kingdom. Best it be ME, in the downhill slide of my life than one of my children, for whom I HOPE I've established a better world, both for them AND the snakes of America.

Anita, you *should* get out more. Those FBI agents will get *fat* if you don't move around and let them get some exercise. (;

You are a true patriot Anita. INVAR would be proud.

Don't go there, JBT. (:

"Goings on" Anita?

Dontcha just LOVE that phrase, Pammy? Only Lucky's generation could have coined a phrase that says so little yet so much at the same time, leaving the details to the imagination of the listener.
