Guess people are realizeing they are not a push over huh!
They had Honaker listed in the top 5 a few years ago when they ended up winning 2-3 games too. Calm down. ;)
I have said it numerous times the last couple months. Union will surprise some people this year. No one had better take them lightly.
They have Sully East receiving votes and Sullivan North grubshucked them Friday night
They won't come out with a new poll until Tuesday.

If a good friend of mine were still with us, he'd say to worry about next Friday's game. Union looks pretty good, but there is still a lot of football to play and things are never exactly like you expect in HS sports. Course this isn't a "low-life division 1" team.;)

Seriously folks this Union getting good hype is way overblown. Honestly what kind of idiot would think they wouldn't be hard to handle considering 2 of the state's powerhouses in football have merged? People never cease to amaze me. Let's start a thread this November and then another in the spring about how SHOCKED we are that Central's baseball and ladies basketball teams are extremely good and people shouldn't take them lightly lol. Seriously folks-just a touch of common sense required.

Me too especialy when you go to work and have to listen to a certain Central fan over blowing them and saying well richlands was playing sloppy but of course this same person talked about how appy and pv hadn't been good in 10 yrs and couldnt be good when consolidted!!!
Well that dude is an idiot. Hate to break it to you but there's plenty of them in every community. If you folks are looking to stoke a fire by that then it's sad. Lol maybe I should try that in the late fall and spring...nah on second thought,I have a little more sense than that :) As I said before common sense dictates that Union be very competitive in football and Central has some work to do. It would be like PVfan coming to my house and talking about how spectacular the Union gals were going to be this fall. At some point delusional needs replaced with reality. I think that before it is said and done Central will be competitive in fooball,but they are a work in progress as we speak. We aren't seeing tons of posts on here about how good Central is going to be in football,yet we see plenty about Union,so to be hypocritical because some CHS fan is overblowing??? :) At the end of the day unless state titles are hoisted,all you are winning is bragging rights. That isn't going to be good enough in Warrior country in the late fall and spring (anything less than 2 state titles will be bitter disappointment),and i'd wager that bragging rights alone will not suffice in football in Bear country. It's nice to say "I'm better than you",but it's a small hill of beans when you compare it to being able to lay claim to being the best there is period :)Quote:

I agree Central SHOULD be the team to beat on the diamond but i highly doubt it will happen. I know it is a long shot in thinking this, especially with a team returning several key players, but you do not get better playing a sport only during it's season. From what I hear there aren't any players practicing at Central.
Central played at least 1 baseball game last week. Coach Mills has a full schedule for FALL BALL. I guess your info is wrong
