the Eastside Spartan Girls that rallied today against Stuarts Draft down a set to win the next two sets and advance to the state title game tomorrow? This might be the first out of our consolidated schools to win a state ring in the first year! I'm extremely proud of these ladies, this would be HUGE for Eastside.
They actually won 3 straight after dropping the 1st one, also they were down 11-5 in the 2nd.
They have a tough test against 29-0 Mathews tomorrow, I hope they can pull it off.

If you ask me.... even if they finish as State Runnerup....thats a huge accomplishment and also is huge for the school......especially in its first year as a consolidated high school. State Champs would be great! But being the State Runnerup aint no joke either.

They have been leading this whole second set, jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead, it is now 15-12. Big set they need to win, hopefully they will keep it up and take this one.
20-20 now in the 2nd.
Matthews takes second set 25-21. Not looking good, they owned that set until the end, should be 1-1 now but Matthews now leads 2 sets to none.

Eastside wins the 3rd 25-17
Mathews wins 4th set 25-15 and the match 3-1.
Bummer....
They really had a great chance to win this but it didn't happen, oh well, that's still so huge for that team to come together like that and only lose three matches all year...the last one being in the finals to a team that finishes 30-0. Congrats to these girls, they represented us far better than expected, really proud of them. They walk away with a D2 state runner-up trophy and Sportsmanship Award for the tourney.
