Yup, no more altec pro website. I hope someone saved all the PDF's for our library....
Very fresh happenings, the "old" site was still in my browser cache.
As has been discussed here before, there wasn't really anything there that isn't duplicated elsewhere in the web. However it was well indexed and made it very easy to find specific documents. I'll miss that convenience.
That said, y'all should have archived most of the pdf's by now given the past glitches and hints that this day would ultimately come.:)
IT STILL COMES UP FOR ME !! I see now if you do a new search it is gone !
They are talking about Altec Lansing Technologies. Not the Altec Pro website with all the PDF's .They stopped making the A7 over a year ago or so... At $5800 a piece who would want to pay that ! They priced them so high to ensure nobody would buy them, it was all a marketing gimmick IMHO ! It just brought Folk's to their website.
I have all of them if you need any ! I have every pdf on that site now and then some.
I just got it to come up also.I had it bookmarked and when I hit it this morning that's when I got the new website. Maybe they want me to buy something for Christmas . HO,HO,HO, ha,ha,ha!
Do you suppose this might also have been necessary or advantageous for them to maintain their rights/copyright to the VOTT name?Quote:

Interesting the direct link works. When I Googled for Altec Pro last night, and found Altec Lansing (or whatever) it would re-direct to the current Altec website. Now, I see that it's the www that makes the difference. Altec Lansing gets me re-directed to Altec Lansing. altecpro.com goes to altecpro.com.
I sent several messages to ALT last night and the person responding basically acted as if I didn't know what I was taking about...... and seemed
Also...... reading the consumer website, I think I may have missed a change. Altec/Sparkomatic used to be in Milford, PA. I'm aware of the Plantronics purchase, and I beleive I heard that they were later divested. In the Carreer's section of the Altec website, they mention being located in San Diego. I'm thinking the current company may be yet another new Altec, and mostly unrelated to Sparkomatic........ leftovers after being dumped by Plantronics, or something........ and maybe not even in control of the Pro website.
Finally, I see that the current Altec is Altec Lansing, LLC. I think they had dropped the T (Technologies) awhile back, so I'm not sure if the LLC is a recent change or not.
They're still in Milford, they have a pretty good sized warehouse and distribution center there as well as some assembly/manufacturing are, i'd guess that's mostly packaging nowadays. The company profile simply says they have an office in San Diego.
Here's a fairly recent company newsletter that should warm everyone's heart. I'm not a Bose hater but...................................

Altec Lansing Technologies, Inc. announced the key executive hire of Rudy Pantoja as General Manager of Operations in Asia where he will play an integral role in the structuring of the company's presence in the region. As General Manager, Pantoja will be responsible for supplier management, quality control and procurement in Asian markets. Additionally, Pantoja will have a hand in driving the development and production of new products including speakers, docking solutions, headphones and networked audio solutions. Pantoja brings 24 years of management experience in the areas of quality, manufacturing and project management along with 13 years of experience managing China-based finished goods assemblers and sub-tier suppliers to his new role at Altec Lansing where he will report to Brendon Stead, Vice President, Product and Engineering. Most recently, Pantoja served as Director of Bose Operation Center for Bose Corporation where he acted as an essential support for the development of the corporation's long term China strategy.
Plantronics sold off Altec some time ago. I suspect in redoing the site the indexes are messed up so only the direct link works.
Pantoja must speak Chinese.
Once we get the Library up and running we won't need that site anyway. I have them backed up (pdf's) as well so they aren't going anywhere !! :smile2:
I'm glad to see that they have GPA's link and info at the top of the page.....
