Wow--that rig makes your Model 19's look tiny! I'm not an expert but off the top of my head I'd say one potential problem would be that this setup puts quite a distance between your bass horn on the floor and your multi cell. If I remember right, this is a very large room that you've built so as long as you're sitting back a good distance from your speakers hopefully it will be fine. Not a good set up for a small room of course if you're sitting 10 feet from the speakers.......
EDIT: Personally, I usually like my h.f. horns and/or tweeters at ear level or tilted to point up or down towards ear level. This setup does presumably put your h.f way above (seated) ear level. I guess you could tilt/point them down a little or maybe if you're seated back far enough it's not a problem......

Dont be surprised if the airport calls to complain about the noise.
There is enough sound there for a small colosseum and thats just for ONE channel!
I dont see how you could miss anything even if they were facing the wall.

AA can you notice any problem with the windows so close to the speakers in the corner there ? I would imagine they could rattle quite a bit ! :tongue2:

There's at least 20+' between the speakers and the closest listening seat. Been doing a lot of listening and so far there's not a lot of separation between the HF and LF. This was my main concern. I'll tell you what, it wasn't easy getting that stuff up there....Quote:

Yes, Everything is wrong! You have the space and altec drivers that most of us wish we had. Load the 288-g's on all avaliable horns. Then set the simplex's up across the front, just like in the theatre. L.C.R. Then put the blue rays on the 816's for side surround and the 19's in the rear. Get a 7.1 reciever and enjoy sonic nirvana. You may not even need a sub, but if you do, add one at a later date. You may even have enough amps to bi-amp everything. Just my $.o2!

I'm running that array of Frazier Horn tweeters plus the 802-8Gs on the 19's for the high end. The 1005b's currently have the 902-8A's on them, although I've been debating putting the 288-16G's back on. Thoughts?Quote:

Great set-up!! Plus you can stand on it when you need to tweak it.
And people go," damn your speakers are huge" when they see my 620a's. All size issues go away when I put some music on though!!

I don't want to seem like a know-it-all, but, you don't know what your missing. Load the 288's on those horns and add tweets later! You have seven of them don't you ? So far all you've done is "played" with your system. Get serius ! You can thank me later.
I've had 288's on there before. They came with 288B's, and I've tried the 288-16G's too. At least in the last iteration, the 902's were a better match in SPL's. Of course, now is the time to cycle them through again. I've never tried the 299's on there yet, but maybe this go round.....Quote:

I have put the 288-16G's back up on the 1005Bs and tipped the horns forward so they are now pointing directly at the listening position. I'm going to watch a movie tonight with more or less everything going. This means I'll have the Altec stacks in the corners, a set of infinity Kappa 9's run by a restored Haffler DH 500 bracketing the TV, and the same preamp running everything along with a subwoofer (JBL4608 with a couple of locally made 15" drivers and a 150W DBX subwoofer amp)
Panomaniac stopped by one night and measured the Simplex/Frazier set up and was surprised at how well it measured. I need to get him to post the graphs for posterity's sake...

It's definitely getting multipurpose use. I watched Tron Legacy with the kids this afternoon. While basking in the sound, I couldn't help but think how it might all sound with some rears.
