I Think The Search Feature is Broken Again

I'm still looking to buy a new amp for my Altecs and was looking for a thread I started a few months ago regarding new amplifiers. I remember I got some great advice in that thread so I went to my profile, selected "Find All Started Threads" and a bunch of my threads came up. I couldn't find the new amplifier thread and I then noticed that the newest thread that came up was dated August 3, 2011. I know I've started quite a few threads since then, but none of them come up in the search. Anyone else care to try their "Find All Started Threads" link in their profile to see if this is a common problem?

I just did a "Find All Started Threads" search for AB and Old Guy and according the the search their latest new started threads were in the summer of 2011. I'd say something's definitely wrong with the search feature. I noticed the "cut off date" for all three of us is different. I'm wondering if the search function has a cap to limit results and the more threads you start the quicker you hit the search "cap" and the sooner your cut off date is? Just a theory, but I think Steven may have to do some troubleshooting if it's not something as simple as increasing the "cap" number for searches......

It isn't the best that's for sure ! I never seem to be able to find what I'm looking for.

mine are stuck at aug 10th.

and have been since aug 10th ...

I tried to find my speaker building thread today by going to my profile and clicking on all post by me...it wasn't there. I had to go through the pages to find it. :(

As far as I know, electricity is at light speed, why do I have to wait 20 seconds between searches?

Good Question Westend9 ! I know Steven disabled the similar thread search function.It was putting a performance strain on the system and it wasn't really working all that well.I have already talked to him about the forum thread search function not working. For our members here. I'm recommending that you use Google for now, until some progress can be made on this. I'll keep everyone posted.

Have been talking with Steven.He hopes to have the new search feature update up and running by next weekend.He will be working on it this weekend.But we would like to add some time for any delays that may arise. :p

With a full forum software upgrade in April or May. To VB version 4.1.11 :cool:
