Seller has marginally interesting items, and I email about their source that was briefly mentioned in the auction....... original theater cabinets. After several emails back and forth I give up

Me: Will be the cabinets be made available? What are they?

Seller: This came of a Altec Lansing 811B Horn.

Me: In the auction you said that you, "Just pulled them from there org. theatre
cabs." I guess I'm lost....

Seller: Them meaning the Driver & the Mount. not sure what model Altec cabs they where sorry.

Me: So you don't have the cabinets, and they won't be available?

Seller: no, this auction is only for the Driver & the Mount

Is this seller messing with me? Is he stupid? Was I not clear enough on what I was after?

I wrote back that, I wasn't asking about this auction

I've given up on it, and have decided I want nothing to do with this seller.

No comments? So does this mean that I'm the cranky idiot?

No, that's me. Anyway sellers follow the 90% is crap rule.

Seller finally sent me pictures....... they look like some kind of Valencia, to me. Not really what I was after any way.

No comment here because you pretty much outlined 10% to 20% of the conversations i have with sellers and buyers alike.

I'm sure it's probably just me, but i'd swear the general populous is rapidly getting less intelligent, and less moral.

Looking back at our exchange, it's as if he treated each question as completely unrelated to each other. I used the reply button, and ebay quotes the original below.

I wonder if he's using some sort of auction posting software. I had a big power seller do that to me once. It took forever to get a reply and each response could not seem to fathom why I was getting madder and madder, and claimed I was being completely unreasonable, claiming that it would all be taken care of, and that it was the first time I had emailed them. All I wanted was a correct total, and for them to stop unpaid auction proceedings on me.

Some sellers can be hard to work with which is probably why they are sellers like some contractors I have met they can't work for anyone because they don't play well with others. There is a guy on ebay that I've bought a new rotel amp from if you ask too many questions he blocks you. I have seen other people on AK who have had the same problem with him. Now I refer to him as the soup nazi of audio. Now I spend my money somewhere else. I have thought about buying from him with my sisters ebay account and then calling him and telling him how much I like it just to piss him off but I really don't want to give the condescending prick any more of my money.

Sometimes, I think they very carefully read every third or forth word.

As more and more flippers come into the business of selling this old gear for profit. I think you will see this much more often.As their only concern will be what they can get for it !!!
