btw, it came with a temporary tattoo. Did the original come this way?
Yes, when I got my copy it also came with a tat.
I put it on my forehead and walked around as a Walking Advertisment.
What is this thing you speak of? Is it an official release?
Carl, it's Antique Wine and Roses by the Dogtown Balladeers. Yes, it's an official release. Produced by Mr. Yaffa himself. There's an interview on here somewhere with DB about the whole thing.
Ah, I don't read the scribblings of the GZine staff. Silly bunch they all are.
Excellent album. They also released an ep called All dressed up in dreams
Yeah Ian, great cd. Have never heard the EP you mention. They also (from what I can tell) have another titled A Tale Worth Hearing..... From what I understand, each EP has something like 2-3 new cuts alongside an album cut.
Whoops, don't mean 'new' tracks, perse. Rather, unreleased songs.
The first Dressed EP...was right when they changed their name from Scarlet Fever to Dogtown Balladeers.
I dont' have the EP...but It does have some of the songs off of the Antique CD.
Also, The Dressed Up EP...includes some tracks from the Scarlet Fever name...though they had already changed to the Bluesy Rock and not the Glam Rock that SF was.
If I recall, that DB album had tons of musical guests. They kinda pissed me off back in the day when I never got my Scarlet Fever demo I ordered back in the day, but the SF-"Just what the Dr. ordered" is phenominal!
August '97!!! Yeah, kinda old stuff there. I read that a loooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggggggg time ago. Don't remember much about it, so I guess I will re-read it.
Thats when my daughter was born, and she is now in first grade! Ack!!!
According to the cd booklet, Michael Monroe, Dizzy Dean Davidson, Ryan Roxie, Jonathan Daniel, and Brian Forsythe guested, among others.
Here's a link to the DB interview on glitz. I think it was posted from another site, though.

PEOPLE WHO LOVES THIS TRASHY/BLUESY STUFF (LIKE ME) WOULD HAVE TO CHECK THE SLIMMER TWINS AND (SPECIALLY) THE DIAMOND DOGS (THINK MUSICALY ON ROD STEWART IN 1973/4 BUT WITH A GUILBY'S CLONE SINGIN) ALSO THE 2ND UNRELEASED ALBUM OF BLACKEYED SUSAN IS REALLY GOOD!!!
BTW SOME OTHER INFO ABOUT BANDS IN THIS WAY WILL BE WELCAME!!!
IF I HAVE TO NAME THE BAND WHICH SURPRISED MOST HAPPILY IN MY LIFE THEN I CONTINUE SAYING "THE QUIREBOYS"
Seriously folks, if you like this stuff, do yourself a favor and go out and buy ANYTHING by Faces. Your best bet would be the "Good Boys" compilation CD. Hear the original band to be of this sort, and still the best. "Miss Judy's Farm" and "Borstal Boys" are still the ultimate tear 'em up songs ever written. Kenny Jones is a KING amongst drummers, nobody played with his attitude. And Ron Wood was in top form and proves over and over again who should really be the lead guitar in The Rolling Stones.
TOTALLY AGREE WITH YA ON THIS CARL!!! I DO HAVE AND LOVE THE FACES STUFF (AND THAT'S THE REASON CUZ I'M ALWAYS ON THE SEARCH OF THESE KIND OF BANDS!!! BUT U KNOW I'M A COCK ROCKER SO I LOVE THE ROD SOLO SIDE BY THOSE YEARS (THINK ON THE "SMILER" ALBUM AND THE "SWEET LIL ROCK AND ROLER" VERSION !!! HA HA!!!
Got to go with Marky and Carl on this -The Faces were an excellent band. Well worth a listen if you like The Quireboys, Dogtown Balladeers etc
