I think $5 would be fair for a 1948 Altec magnetic flower pot/doorstop.
It's worth ~200 bucks as it sits, maybe a little more because it's a hollywood motor. It'll bolt into any of the 3 frame styles.
Suppose you spent: 200 for the motor
100 for a horn(old style multicell, new style is prolly 20-30 bucks)
100 for a diaphragm
100 for a new frame
100 for re-cone

I thought when I posted it a couple of months ago it was $900.? Oh well It could be an interesting paper weight.
looks like he's sold the diaphragm - that may explain the price drop.
He's probably just in denial because he likely spent a few grand on it and for one reason or another cant recoup his losses other than reselling. That definitely makes me cringe, cant be to many of those very early units left.
