Glam 2005: Suggestions for compilation CD

Here's a good topic everyone can get involved
in for all the right reasons - unlike that
rotten 'Fruity' thread. [img]wink.gif[/img]

I've claimed to a local music journo that
the newer glam/pop releases are just as good
as what the local kids are doing with their
eyeliner and obsessions with The fucking
Libertines, except, they simply don't sell
as much.

I'd like to throw her a tasty folder of
about 10 mp3s, so all - serious - suggestions
are considered, and then I'll set about
digging them out. Is the Beautiful Creatures
CD has good as they say?

I would suggest a couple of tracks off the largely-ignored 2nd Robin Black album. I love We Saw Right Through Ya and Shoot 'em Up Now.

Not heard the 2nd Beautiful Creatures album yet, but loved the first one.

How about something off the new LA Guns album? Hard choice as to which one as their all brilliant.

MANY OF THE SONGS FOR LATEST "SUPERGROUPIES" , "BABYLON BOMBS", "SLOWPANIC SWEETHEARTS" OR "PEPPERMINT CREEPS", RELEASES ALSO PERFECTLY FIT ON THIS REQUEST, DARREN!!!

Yeah, I'll go along with the Peppermint Creeps. The new album has a couple of highlights, 15 Minutes Of Fame, Let your Voice Be Heard, etc., but 'Take Me Home' and 'Red Lights' off Animatron X are better pop tunes, I reckon.

I know they've got a deal, but Hurricane Party's 'Crown Of Thorns' or 'Roadstar'.

Don't forget the new Tsar, Bif Naked, and Rachel Stamp releases.

The Cherry Monroe one I've just got is excellent too.

The Black Halos - Alive without Control

Hanoi Rocks - Another Hostile Takeover (it does have some good songs)

Vains of Jenna (don't know that much about em, but they have been posting new songs on myspace and they rock)

Chelsea Smiles - EP

and Stars Underground - Soundtrack to a Suicide (may have not come out this year, but people think there might be a couple good songs on it )

I'm looking forward to hearing the new LA Guns,
Billy Idol (heard lots of good things about this,
but again, he's probably out playing golf with
Cooper half the time), and also Crystal Pistol
(great name).

Speaking Finnish bands - I think they were Finnish
anyway, or they could have been Icelandic.
Anyways, what was that cool video we were talking
about a few months ago... They've all got a kooky
image, rockstar hair, etc., and the singer wears
giant pilot's goggles, eyeliner, and has a kind
of crazy Adam Ant-ish look about him. The video
begins with the singer making a phone call then
walking down the street to meet up with band
members - and they also trash an acoustic guitar
at some point. If I could remember the chorus
I'd remember the song, but I feeling a bit brain-
fried today, I'm afraid.
