i was just reading Honda Tunning & saw this new 2002 hatchback. The looks SUCKS! but man! the engine & stuff are awsome. It's gonna have a I-Vtec 2.0L DOHC 16 valves. and for all for 20k.
Im thinking between waiting to buy the new Civic or modify my old 89 civic HB (B16A+transmission+other mods+bodykit+rims...). either of those would be 20k.
man! this a hard decision. Need help.
What do u guys think? do I have more options on my 89civic?

fix up the 89, you might even be faster with just you basic mods. that car is gonna be so heavy that your b16a should beat it. and it soooooooooooooooooo ugly!!!

the '89 will definitely be faster. The new Civic Si 2.0l motor will still only put out 160HP, and I bet the car weighs almost 3000 lbs. You do the math http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif

I've done a lot of research, thanks to all the links u guys provided me with. Also in Honda Tunning, the have an article about Rob Walker's 90 civic HB. He's got a B16A with AC & power steering? Is that possible or it depends of the installation?

Hell I found a sit that told me how to make my carbon fiber door panels. So I think the power steering weight will be ok. After the doors I?ll be doing anything I can make.

just curious...how do you figure that much? swaping a b16+bodykit+rims+other parts is well under $10,000 which if half a 2002 Si.
shoot, you could do a JDM front end and still make it out under $10,000

I don't mind the new Si's at all (i'd still keep my current 89 and make it my project car hehe). The 7th gen Si is only gonna be between 2700-2800 lbs, sorta portly but most new cars are these days. The 2.0 is like 160hp but 130 ft/lbs...wow a honda with some torque...whats this world comming to? http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif The new K20 motors respond to mods REALLY damn well from what i'm hearing, mainly cuz of the Vtec-i and its 2.0L hehe. And the chassis is suppose to give kickass handling even on shitty 195/60 tires...imagine just a set of wheels on that thing to tighten it up a bit. The looks...well the back looks good...that front end is something else though lol. Still, I like it...like i said if i could hang onto my 89 and make it sick...i'd pimp a 02'

Nice Pic Habib! Is that pic from the US? After seeing the Civic Type R version I do think the new Sis have some potential. Im glad they put the Si's back to hatches like they are supposed to be. Give them 2 years I get the front bumper will look more agressive, they do that almost every year.

the '02 isn't THAT bad looking except for those headlights. if i were to get an '02 i'd have to make myself a pair of "eyelids" like eric did on his car.
but, don't hold your breath...the only car i'd own other than my 4G would be a Mini Cooper S (yum-my)

which they got out of motor trend...and it speaks of how honda is a bit pissed about the focus SVT...and not only is the RSX-R comming eariler than expected...but the CTR should be joining it on these shores at the same time?!?!?!?! Did Ford really push Honda's button? If the CTR hits these shores all hell will definally break loose hehe, still from a marketing standpoint I don't see honda doing it, but now my fingers are crossed. If I hear more on this i'll let you guys know.

i was reading in the new issue of motor trend..in the front news section i saw a little pic of the euro civic type r. they said that the euro type r is the 200 hp 6 speed that has the same drive train as the rsx-s, but they said that acura doesn't have to worry cuz the rsx-R will have 220 and be out around the same time..point of this post..motortrend really really hinted that the civic type R IS coming to the US and will be here by summer of 03. anyone else read this?????
