Won buy a zero feedback bidder then back up at that price. Methinks somebody tried to drive the price up and got egg on their face.

So why did he not get a negative when he didn't pay? I still think it's a shill account.

I've bid on items that were rather obviously bid up by shill users. When I informed eBay, they were very unconcerned. I suppose they get a higher fee as the item price is driven up.

Ebay doesn't want you to leave negative feedback for non-payers. It is very hard to do so. If you do, they don't post it and send you a nice patronizing thank you note for helping keep the ebay community aware. Like anyone needs to be kept aware of dead beat bidders.

i've seen lately where a seller listed in the discription that any zero feed back bidders will be deleted.

Hello,
First post on this site. This thread came up in a google search for Altec Intermodulation Analyzer, a search I initiated in an effort to learn more about the piece of gear I posted on ebay.
This item "sold" again today, let's see if it's a legitimate purchase this time. I have no idea what this item is worth, but isn't that the beauty of ebay...start the auction at a low price and let the free market decide the value. I started the original auction at $10 and certainly got my hopes up to sell for $1k based on the bidding activity, but I was scammed apparently in the first go round.
I listed and sold a western electric amplifier and an Altec mono amp at the same time and the winners of those auctions flaked, too. There certainly seems to be more scammers and ne'er-do-wells on ebay than I remember from the old days. I guess in light of that I can't blame you guys for assuming that I was somehow involved in trying to drive up the price, but that is untrue.
Anyway, feel free to bid on this thing if you see it listed again!

3 items and the buyers don't follow thru? Sounds like you have more bad luck than most.

Well, I listed 42 items at the same time and only 3 didn't follow through, so not terrible I guess...

Haha, thanks. There is that possibility...

Listed doesn't count. We are talking percentage of sold. Makes it a little worse, But guess ya gotta live with it.
Didn't see the Huntron stuff I might have actually bid on that...:D
