That is a tough one. I had the zc and it was good but i never turboed it. I am now swapping a b16.
Turbo: more money needs to be spent if you want to up the boost. Quick acceleration and torque which an n/a honda lacks.
B16: not a lot of torque on the bottom end. But it more than makes up for it through the midrange and on the top.

...b16 has alot more room for upgrades....turbo zc would be a hell of alot of fun, but it'd be pretty much at its peak and you wouldnt really be able to go any further with it...besides more boost obviously. think that makes sense...

Lol.... man I went over this in my head over and over.
I finely decided I am going to go b16a.
I like the turbo thing but they are not meant for it and all you are asking for is problems, or not just that but thinking in you head all the time damn is this to much boost am I going to blow it up.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN 1000$ TO REBUILD THE TURBO!!!

Both Marked and 91ZC bring up excellent points. BUT to make it a little bit more interesting, if my ZC happends to blow up I think I will probably go LS since I have a turbo, from what I have seen b16's and turbos dont seem to like eachother much since the compression is so high on the b16. Actually Everyone I have ever known with a b16 and turbo have blown up :O

If I ever turbo my b16 the compression is being dropped and while I am at I am installing forged rods and new rings. Then the b16 will like boost. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Do I hear boost coming from your way in the future?! Atleast it sounds like your on the right track if you are going to turbo the b16. B16 is a great all motor engine if you ask me.

Portflow head
JUN/Crower/or Toda Stage 2 cams
Valvesprings and retainers
Sleeved and bored-don't know how much yet
High Comp pistons JE or Endyn
Eagle Rods
Type-r or JG intake manifold
Big bore throttle body
JG or DC header
Upgraded Fuel mods
Hondata ECU
Of course this is not at the same time...lol http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I might not get all of it because it is going to be expensive, but I might end up doing this over a couple of years.

Engine mods- Shit I knew I forgot something
well, considering I just pulled my turbo ZC...and replacing it with a B16A....I thought long and hard...I'd go the B16 route. a bit more money, and just a VERY little bit less power than a turbo ZC. in the long run everything will hold up better on the B16 as it's a stronger motor. no need for major builds when adding a turbo later on....and just think how sweet that turbo B16 will be one day http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

A buddy of mine here in Tuscon has a acura integra with a LS. Cars been completely stripped, header, intake, exhaust, and web cams. My car is a full bodied 90 civic si with 16" wheel, intake and axle back exhaust..oh and b16a with ACT clutch and lightened flywheel. The LS keeps up with me in 1, and 2. In third I see nothing but headlights fading. Definately impressed with the ls..what about a LS with turbo ??
