Latvia
While the rest of the world was shaken by the shocking turn of events, something that hadn't happened since the First Space War was about to begin. The Terrestrial Nations, feeling vulnerable, where about to hold a summit. The area once known as Latvia was chosen for it, for reconstruction had been good to the small nation. Because it was also held by OZ, they took it as a sign that the Earth nations may have found faith in them again. But OZ was not the only group interested in "trust" at this summit.
The topic at hand was what was to be done about Colonial Axis and how to fight against them. It was clear that war was the only option, but the real question was whether or not the rival factions would join forces again. Most of those pushing for this, the radicals, believed that the entire earth should unite against the ever-coming threat from above and made up the majority. On the other hand, the moderates (really only the AEUG faction of the Federation and ORB) wanted to find some means of diplomacy in order to avoid the destruction of the last war.
As the representatives of each nation took their place two politicians were noticeably late. The President of the Federation and the Princess of ORB...
-
Yuri gave the latecomers a disgruntled look,<font color="red"> ?I am glad that you kould make it, president, princess.? </font>
Michel look angry and was about to say something stupid but Abram just shove him along, muttering, <font color="green">?just ignore ?im, you?ll only dig yourself a deeper hole if you say anything.?</font>
-
The actual building the summit was in was surrounded by Mobile Suits of various factions, guarding against any attack that might catch them off guard. The Princess was still climbing out of her Golden M1, which, if nothing else, gave her a dramatic means of attending. She gave Yuri only a cold glare after his comment and focussed her attention back on her three subordinates, nodding to the Blue Murasame and the two standard M1s as one took up guard of the Princess's personal machine. The captain of the guard stepped out of his Murasame as well and escorted the young sovereign to her seat.
Although it was not itentional, the Princess's lateness seemed to further promote her cause. She already stuck out as she entered in military uniform instead of a buisiness suit, and with many dinitaries already seated, her M1 and her appearance attracted attention. She had already spoken without words, "ORB will not be pushed around."
-
Camilla sat next to the leaders of the AEUG, it was clear to them that it was going to be an upward battle.
<font color="teal">"Princess, it's a pleasure as usual."</font> Said one of the men as she took her seat.
<font color="gold">"The same goes for you Mr..."</font>
<font color="teal">"Henricks, we only met once before, so don't worry about it."</font>
<font color="gold">"No one has really had time to prepare, why do you think they called this so quickly?"</font>
<font color="teal">"To most of them, it's a shock the colonies could muster so much force, they probably want to get this war started quickly so they can mount an attack on the colonies before anyone starts asking questions about those who aren't affiliated with Colonial Axis. Simply stated, they like things "black and white"." </font>
<font color="gold">"So may I assume that you'll be speaking on colonies' rights?"</font>
<font color="teal">"If I may assume you'll be pleading for your country's neutrality."</font>
Camilla smiled gently at the older man and nodded. She could tell he was trying to be charming, but for a girl of her age, the 48-year-olds attention was slightly uncomfortable.
<font color="navy">"Order!"</font> Called the moderator, who was wearing an OZ uniform. <font color="navy">"We are gathered here today as representatives of the Earth in a time of crisis under the invitation of the Earth Federation and the Organiztion Zodiac. Hence, we ask that the Representative of the former come forward and make his case."</font>
Camilla's eyes narrowed, she had a rough idea of what the Federation's stance was, but she still feared hearing it.
-
Michel looked around and saw everyone staring at him, feeling slightly nervous, he gave a faint smile and moved the microphone closer to his mouth. <font color="yellow"> ?Ahem, as you can all see,?</font> a hologram projector in the center of the room conjured up an image of colonial axis?s fleet. <font color="yellow">?The colonies are preparing for a attack on our nice blue planet, obviously jealous and their minds altered by the coordinator genes.? </font> Michel around to see the expression on everyone?s face and began again with more impetus. <font color="yellow"> ?We need to strike at the headquarters of this enlarging axis before they burn our homes and rape our wives.?</font> Michel was begging to rave at this point, <font color="yellow">?The savages that so dearly want to destroy our home must be dealt with in any means necessary, and if that includes destroying a colony then so be it.? </font> Michel looked around once more, spying the grinning face on Yuri?s face he started once more, this time more crazed, <font color="yellow">?we will have to build gigantic armies, and colossal fleets to regain our land, our money, sweat and blood, the colonies that were unrightfully taken from us. These mongrels seek to destroy every fabric of life as we know it by conquering us like modern day Huns. If we do not take action now, there will be no chance to stop the inevitable, and all of you will see the wrong of your ways.? </font>
Michel picked up a small glass of water that was sitting in front of him and took a sip. He looked around, then realizing that he was finished he looked at the peoples faces and gave another faint smile, just like he did when he began and spoke,<font color="yellow"> ?That is all.? </font> Michel sat down in his chair and listened intently to Abram as he sung words of praise in his ears.
-
Camilla sneered, she could understand wanting to defend one's self, but a good percentage of her country was coordinator. If they wnated her to join them they had made the wrong first impression.
Many others, such as the OZ and New Federation booths, clapped with fervor, this was not a day for the moderates.
-
<font color="navy">"I think I speak for every Earthnoid with what I am about to say,"</font>The man in the blue OZ uniform took the podium again and pointed to the fleet. <font color="navy"> "It is only a matter of time before that very fleet start sending their forces upon us. So let me say now that I stand beside the Federation to strike them first, just as any true Earthnoid would! I purpose that we band together against our common threat and OZ will gladly declare itself in support of the Federation and I expect all true patriots to do so as well!" </font> The man stepped down and walked to the Federation booth to shake hands with Michel. The energy could be felt throughout the room, the excitement of going to war, and all those who opossed it could feel their hearts sink like the enemy HLV (Heavy Lift Vehicles) hitting the atmosphere overhead.
-
A man in an EAF uniform walked up to Anashka and whispered something in her ear. Anashka immediately turned around and strode out of the meeting room for her mobile suit.
Yuri Also got up, but instead stood up at the Podium, ignoring Anashka and stared around, giving a faint smile to Michel he began. <font color="red"> ?My friends, it zeems that our time is short here. The Axis is already on it?s vay and I have dispatched a? Greeting party.?</font>
-
<font color="gold">"I can believe they're already attacking.</font> The princess nodded to the guard captain, who stood and began to exit. The moderator, who so happened to be Baron Conrad of OZ, stood back at the podium.
<font color="navy">"With the enemy approaching may I move that we continue the meeting later at another location and that this meeting should also be the deadline for all of your responses. Responses of whether or not you will join the Alliance aggainst these spacenoid agressors!" </font>
<font color="teal">"Leave it to an OZ dog trying to get warm with the real powers again to blame spacenoids..."</font> Henricks remarked to the Princess. But she was dwelling on another issue, "would Earth really go along with this "If you're not with us you're aggainst us!" policy? and if so, what did it mean for ORB?
On the other side of the room, a man in a black suit, who appeared to be from the Titans looked extatic as he spoke with Michel. This was a strike, not only against the spacenoids, but against the AEUG as well.
In the New Federation booth, talk was spreading of rejoining the Federation and officially having control over the oceans and improving conditions for their loyal soldiers.
But as all this took place, the mobile suits out side were preparing for combat. The first official ground battle seemed unavoidable.

The doors to the conference hall were suddenly flung open as a single person entered the hall.
<font color="green">"What? Leaving so soon? Will you really let those Neanderthals push you around like this?"</font> asked the man who had just entered in a booming voice that required no microphone to be heard in the hall, which had suddenly grown deathly silent. Dressed in what looked like a cross between the garb of a Romanian Vampire hunter and an American Pimp, he slowly walked over and sat down next to Camilla. He relished in the fact that all eyes were on him as he continued.
<font color="green">"What happened to that <u>rage</u>, that <u>invincible confidence</u> you just expressed about purging our fair world of those unsightly parasites? Was it all just an act? Now that they have brought the fight to you, while each of your militaries engages the fiends, you choose the hypocritical response and run away with your tails between your legs like a bunch of dogs who were just beaten by their MASTER!??</font>
Now, leaning back on the hind legs of his chair and resting his feet on the top edge of the booth, he emitted an aura of relaxation and calm that was a stark opposite to the feelings he read on the faces of the politicians.
<font color="green">?If that?s the case, then I believe Princess Camilla has the correct idea, considering how ineffective the bonds of hollow governments are. You all want to put up a large front in hopes of scaring off the opponents, but in reality all you are doing is making each other weaker! YOU KNOW IT, I KNOW IT, AND YOU CAN BE SURE THEY KNOW IT TOO! ?
?As it just so happens, I brought some reinforcements with me to ensure that this meeting may continue to run smoothly. I, for one, do not like the idea of pleasing those who believe they can predict every action of the people of Earth. Why send those <u>bastards</u> home happy?! Since I can assure you that there will be no more interruptions, I believe that our dear Princess Camilla has a few things to say.?</font>
-
Camilla paused, goose bumps ran through her entire body as her leather belt seemed to suddenly be squeezing her to death. She never felt this sensation before. Public speaking had always been second nature, but it didn't feel that way now. <font color="gold">"People of Earth, members of you respective alliances,it is true that the Nation of ORB does ask for neutrality, but I must also say that your reasoning,"</font>her focus turned to the strange man. <font color="gold">"...whoever you may be, is off base. Our country will not side with those who would attack the Earth without reason, but we cannot side with an alliance that would so openly oppress spacenoids and discriminate against coordinators either. We have nothing to gain joining either side and everything to loose. I, not only as ORB's princess, but also as representative of the people, came here for that reason and that reason alone. With that said sir, I don't know what you are implying, for I have no other motives."</font>

<font color="red"> "who is this man?" </font> Yuri thought to himself. Anger began to pulse throug his neck and seethe through every vein at this man, and he found himself at the end of the strange man's speech with a hand over his pistol.
Mitchel however, was enjoying peacfuly a small handheld game, and only noticed the strange man when the princess had finished her speech.
-
Camilla had not taken her seat yet, she was still glaring at the mystery man. She also realized that most of the attention was still on her, but she could not sit. The idea of sitting next to the man disgusted her the way sitting next to the Federation or EAF booths did.
-
<font color="navy">Your Highness, as beautiful as you are, may I ask that you please sit down.</font>
Conrad remarked sarcastically from across the room. Camilla, embarassed took her seat. She couldn't stand being talked down to but she had little choice. Conrad smirked and stepped forward.
<font color="navy">"So what are you suggesting we do sir?"</font>
-
<font color="green"> "Sir,"</font> Abram wispered into Mitchel's ear, "I don't like the looks of this man, I think that you should do something about him."
<font color="yellow"> "Why?"</font> Mitchel replied.
<font color="green"> "Just look at him," </font> Abram answered,<font color="green"> "His hair, his dress, his demener, I think you should do something about him. Besides, he reeks of a coordinator." </font>
<font color="yellow">"You know what, I think I will,"</font> Mitchel then stood up and pointed a finger at the strange man. <font color="yellow">"You sir, are a rude insolent welp. You think that you can control us? I will continue this meeting when and wherever I want. You cannot just barge into a meeting, and claim that everyone must stay put, just as though you had a gun up to our heads."</font>
-
Out side the building, a few hundred meters away, the roar of beam rifles sounded in the air. The six Sturm Diaz had been reduced to four and one of the Zaku IIIs had recieved severe damage. They had all taken cover in order to modify their initial plan, which was noticably failing.
The initial strike seemed affective, as the came down the Sturms ejected their binders (specialized thrusters), as they were the first to land and there was little use for them on earth. They met up with a group of Leos and quickly destroyed them. But as the Zakus landed and the whole group got closer they were attacked by unidentified suits among the Federation and EAF models. Something was terribly wrong with the Zeons' plan, and they didn't see it coming.
-
<font color="green">"Ah, that, my good man, is where you would be wrong. Take a look around you, does it appear anyone present knows who I am? And if I was from space, you'd all be dead right now."</font>
Standing up and walking to the center of the hall, as to better address his audience, he now looked Mitchel straight in the eyes.
<font color="green">"I clearly recall myself informing all of you about the 'reinforcements' I have brought. However, I could just as easily turn those forces against you, essentially making all of you my hostages. And just to make you feel better, know that upon my death, my troops are ordered to destroy this hall and everyone in it! So, kill me if you want to, it's not like I don't win either way."</font>
At the same time, five Destroys appeared from the Zeon forces 11 o'clock and fired their high-energy beam canons right into the pack of Sturm Diazs.
-
The team leader was horrified as he watched from his AMX-011S Custom Zaku III. A Mobile armor wasn't supposed to be at this meeting, let alone five. He motioned to his team to spread out. They had to at least try to overwhelm the "monsters".
-
<font color="navy">"Relax friend, you're being far too paranoid. Besides, why would we kill our savior."</font> Conrad waas the first to step up. <font color="navy">"Allow me to ask again though; What are you suggesting?"</font>
-
Turning his attention to Conrad, <font color="green">"Nobody likes a suck-up."
"As we all know, history has a tendency of repeating itself. This isn't the first time the Earth was attacked, and if I allow you to continue, it won't be the last."
"I could let you form your little alliance and watch you bravely fight off the space invasion, but that's all that would happen. By that time, your forces would be too weak to take the war back into space and finish this once and for all!"
"Ladies and gentlemen, what I am offering you is the extra power you need to finish those fools and ensure generations of peace for Earth. All you would be required to do is send me your resources and recruits. I will refine them, double their worth, and supply you with an invincible army against which the colonists will be powerless!"
"If you don't take my word for it, just watch the outside security channels. There you can witness the battle that is being waged right now and the power of what I'm offering you. I'll give you all until the end of the battle to make your decision."</font>

<font color="gold">"Excuse me, I'm starting to feel ill."</font> The princess said as she stood and began to exit the main hall in the most dignified fashion she could muster. She paused as she reached the door. <font color="gold">"Please don't look so concerned, I've been very ill for a week now."</font> She then exited and continued down the halls. She passed three rest rooms before stopping. and flipped a switch "off" on her watch. Ten meters ahead, a pink explosion burst through the wall. Camilla coughed as the dust cleared and then smiled. The captain's blue Murasame was extending its hand through the "new sun-roof".
<font color="orange">"What's going on milady?"</font>
<font color="gold">"Negotiations are over, I won't let some outsider force us into this senseless war!" </font>

<font color="yellow"> "That sounds like a resonable request," </font> Mitchel replied, <font color="yellow">"But just how do you plan on making a superior army able to win this war, wont it take a year?" </font>
<font color="red"> "Dah, I agree vith kamrade Mitchel, how do you plan on pulling zis off?" </font> Yuri agreed.
-
<font color="orange">"Milady, your mobile suit."</font> The captain said as he delivered his precious cargo to her machine. The two M1s left outside stepped back from the golden one they protected.
<font color="red">"Thank god you're alive Princess! It's absolute chaos out here!"</font>
<font color="orange">"It's not over yet, they're expecting her back soon and will more likely notice my renovations."</font>
The gold Astray started up. <font color="gold">"All the more reason to leave."</font>
<font color="orange">"Agreed, you two, escort her to the plane."</font>
<font color="gold">"Captain, what is the maening of this?"</font>
<font color="orange">"They won't fall for it for long milady, I'll handle any "going away parties" they decide to send."</font> With that the blue Murasame turned around and transformed, flying back in the direction of the summit. The Princess paused but, with the help of the two Astrays, turned away.
-
<font color="navy"> She should have just said she was leaving. </font> Conrad commented as the building shook. <font color="navy"> She didn't really think that we believed that sad excuse did she? </font> Conrad sighed, "Oh well, no real loss right, after all she wasn't going to fight anyway..."
Outside things were getting desparate, two of the Zaku IIIs had managed to destroy a small group of Dagger Ls and, with some cover, reach the feet of a Destroy. The two began to cut at its feet with their beam sabers.
-
The two Zakus made it through, and the first Destroy came tumbling down, knocked off balance by its now severed left foot. The dust stired and the ground shook, but there was no time to celebrate, the enemy still had four.
-
There was a cheer among the Zakus, they had managed to fall another Destroy and severely damage a third one. Using debris as shields, they surmised that their opponents had one disadvantage; unlike the Zaku shock-troops, the Destroy pilots were not seasoned veterans.
-
The Zaku pilots cheered as the third Destroy fell. They'd never piloted such high quality machines before and were all too glad to show off their new power. Around the same time the Blue Murasame came back.
<font color="orange">"Dammit princess, they didn't fall for that trick... But I'll rectify things."</font>
