For all of you that bought the Faith Hill Cry CD, if you haven't kept up with the Faith TV feature, you're missing out on some Vinnie footage, from goofing around, to taking pics with Faith, and the Thanksgiving special. Give it a whirl, starting with episode 4 from the archives.

The CD has a link to a website (only accessible via the loaded disc) called "Faith TV" and there's a number of video clips with Vince on it.

There was a Cmas 1 AWA a Thanksg 1?! I saw that her Thanx spcl was repeated around Cmas, so I assumed that they were both 1 in the same...if not, then I missed that 1, @#$%&*!

I hope, since his next-to-last clinic tour was postponed due to 911, & he had to cancel his last 1 due to family illness, that Vinnie will go on another clinic tour again, & hit some southeastern US dates...[hope that said fam memb is OK]...
haven't seen the guy in clinic since '87 [missed him the last time he came here [basically unannounced - found out about it after-the-fact!] around the "latter-mid" '90's [during the ("7-") Sting days - BUMMER! [img]mad.gif[/img] [img]frown.gif[/img] ]...[funny how "SEVEN Days" is in FIVE [img]wink.gif[/img] ]...

VC is a diff/"changed" man now than he used to be [& since those unflatter'g soundbytes on that 1 particular site [img]eek.gif[/img] - r they still there? - they should be removed...[it's like being constantly reminded, 4 himself AWA & other people, of a moment that is better off 4 every1 to be allowed to 4get]...take note of his humility on MDF '00, & that great clinic fr '98 [mine courtesy of PocketP] that's "floatin around"....

Fuse, Vinnie is NO different when it comes to being taped. Trust me. I've seen it first hand.

I've witnessed my share of VC moments when it came to being taped. I remember once at Le'Cafe he literally chased this guy down the steps through the restaurant and out the front door. It was insane...Vinnie plowing through everyone waiting for the second set to get this guy. Someone told Vinnie that he was being recorded and he flipped...He ended up offering the guy 5 bucks for the tape(he was actually nice to the guy when he caught up to him...which isn't surprising if you've actually talked with VC. He was always so humble and nice when I would talk with him...Anyway,the messed up part was that this guy gave him a different tape....Personally,I think that he has calmed down quite a bit from the past...
There has to be a reason why he is the most sought after when it comes to bootlegs...

...u know, guys, thing is, i really don't think VC's playin now is a whole lot diff from his playing back in the late '70's; i really don't think that he's that much better technically or conceptually...he's ALWAYS played like that, guys...from the Zappa daze, to the infamous Tim Landers clinics, to today...i think these days, perhaps, that his playing is more "refined," controlled [-?!; you know what i mean], maybe; "sculpted," "tailored;" more mature; perhaps...but he was a MONSTER then, & he's still a MONSTER now...Vinnie's [always been] Vinnie...& that's NOT just MHO...

I think Vinnie may be protective of his "Vinnie" licks. A couple of friends of mine hang with Vinnie every so often and they say you have to be very careful of what you say to him. He can fly off the handle pretty easily. He hates to do clinics, which is why he doesn't do them unless forced, (then cancels them when they're scheduled!) and goes ape if people try to tape him in performance. It's also why he'll never do a drum video. The best we can hope for are snippets from live concert footage and whatever we can transcribe. I'm jealous of all you Californians who get to see him in clubs every so often. The last time I saw him was with Kimo Williams in Chicago.
