Actually... why so many people write Kurt/Kitty is beyond me. Why not

It seems like in every story, the poor guy gets treated like shit by his so-called girlfreind, mopes around feeling sorry for himself and ends up on death's door after getting the crap beaten out of him or from contracting some horrible disease, and then she decides she loves him http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif That hardly ever varies. It's elf-abuse i tellz ya.
I recently enjoyed Warped Realities by Chaya. No Kitty, and Kurt gets much better treatment from the protagonist. Elwing you'd probably like it too. It's Elfquest meets the Evo x-men. I'd say its the best evo fic I've read so far. Anyone else read evo fics, or is it just me and Sheemie?

Yeah...I too get suckered into the sugar of Evo fic sometimes. Those stories are like Peeps, they rot your teeth...but they give you a nice high. I've read a few good ones on the CFAN list I'm on. Matter of fact, there's been a raft of good regular Nighty fics on there lately...

Alrighty then, you can find Vi Rath's stuff on a really slow Angelfire page here. Most of these are pretty short and really cute. The best one, I think, and one of the longer ones is The New Girl. Aw!
Also, I know that books can't really make you sick. I know that I must have just caught a bug somewhere that kicked in around the time the elf and the totally repulsive bat creature flew off to consummate their relationship. But now I always feel vaguely ill at the mention of Elfquest.

Yeah, I have to admit that I've read my share of Kurtty fic. Poor Kurt, but poor Kitty too! Why do they write Kit as treating Kurt so poorly? In the comics after she and Kurt made amends, they became really good friends. I know the fic is based on Evo, but Evo Kitty doesn't seem like the ultra-mean type. Even though Evo Kurt is young, I don't think he would let himself be a door mat for any girl/woman. Oh well...

Yeah, the evo Kitty isn't really so mean. I have found her voice a bit abrasive though.
Fasheem, yeah I remember that bat-guy. I thought he was kinda funny. You gotta wonder how he could live like that, though. How in the world did he eat or got to the bathroom? Yeah, I can guess...very messily. I guess he's the EQ equivilent to the stinky Englishman.
Elwing, I came across the news of a new EQ story at Comic Connection. Yay!! So if the x-men let me down this Spring, I read new stuff about my other favorite elf to make up for that.

And Spatch, Mary Sue is a term that started in Star Trek fandom with Ensign Mary Sue who is perfect, talented, beautiful saves the Enterprise and gets all the guys. It has leaked over into all fandom and is basically a self-insertion fantasy for the writer. They can be great fun to write and some of the better ones are great reads. I must admit to an addiction to Mary Sue silly fics!
Yup, Sheemie, it's OTL. Mainly I do a lot of deleting on there, but there are a couple ongoing Kurt stories now, a few one-parters and a 23-part(!) Excalibur story that're really good. There are some great general X-Men stories on there now too, like "Marvels, Maggie" and "Half-Lit World."

I knew all those reviews would come back to haunt me! But I'm getting better. I saw a story with a summary that went something like, "More Kurtty mush! Hope you aren't all getting tired of this!!" and I ignored it! Sure, I was tempted to skip the story altogether and just write a review ("Yes! It all makes perfect sense now! She thinks he's cute but she still hates him (Why?) and treats him (and everyone else) like crap! But then, the terrible threat to Kurt's life (Huh?) causes her to realize she loves him! And admit she loves him! And everyone's happy, especially all the other characters who don't have to put up with Kitty's "moods" now that she's spending all her time with Kurt.
I always feel so bad for Kurt at the end. I think of the life ahead of him, Kitty whining on dates, Kitty whining at the wedding, Kitty whining about everything... and what about the children? http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif

I'm on a bunch of lists for Evo fic. Some of it is really good. One great new author is Vi Rath, who has written quite a few cute little stories and a couple longer ones... I can't remember the site they're on.
Another thing about the Evo fics is they seem to be packed with Mary Sues. *cough*Chaya*cough* She is strong and independant! She has so many guys after her she doesn't know which to choose! She has amazing powers of everything! Ladies and gentlemen I present to you... Mary Sue!

You mean you couldn't get though my fic? Why not? With Mary Sues it depends on the writer and how good they are with words and with pulling you into their story. I've read some that are good and made me go "Man, that was cool!" and some that made me go "Oh god, I gotta stop, I can't take this any more."

You should check out the rest of this author's oevre too. Mostly Star Wars, and a lot more violence towards the male organs. And a story about Mary Sues. Very wierd.
Not that I've anything to say about wierd. I haven't read much fanfic, but in my view fanfic stories are only really good when they have me splitting my sides and are less than a page long.
So it's really fortunate for the world I'm not in the literature nobel prize committee.

Well, there's "die Bier" of course. Nighty/Wolvie slash; pretty pornographic but rather well written, almost believable even. I thought (didn't split my sides over it though), exept for the german bits.

Also, does anyone else have the problem with ff.net where you get a Error 400 page 90% of the time when you try to load, stories, reviews, the main page, etc.?
