Well I just got back from the night races. It was a ok night. However guess what I saw pull up to the gas station!!!! A freaking R33 SKYLINE!!!!!! Sliver with Nismo exhaust, and full nismo setup. I was like WTF!!!!!
(BTW: The skyline is the only car I would take over my R. However I like the R34 rather then the R33) Anyway I talked to the owner who was a total FOB as*hole! He spoke broken engilsh and was full Jap. Anyway I asked him if he dyno'd yet and he said only a smog dyno to clear the car. Anyway one of his friends were being a total punk so my friends dragged me away. Anyway the SVP type R once again raced, however this night was the turing point. He raced a porsche (modded carrera 4) who took him to 4th then the R of course took him. Yet once the R pulled ahead cops came and busted the race. Anyway I thought I would let you in on the scene here.
BTW- I NEVER TAKE MY CAR!!!!!!!! I WOULD BE BUSTED IN A SEC!!!!
On a side note, I'm going tomorow night and I will take pictures this time. You can also go to www.streetracing.org for movies of the races here. (The movies show the SVP R killing M3's (a friends M3), killing Skunk civic's, top of the line NOS'd firebirds, etc....)

The SVP are a bunch of punks. They have no respect for other racers and think they can beat anyone. Anyways, They have a few type R in there crew and one of my friends a few weeks ago went to sac. town raceway on Wens. for test and tune. He saw the type R runing 13.7 or so all motor. Just as fast as the gsr with a 6psi kit. Unless there is a faster type R out there.

No the yellow SVP R runs a 12.755. I saw it run that 3 times in a row two weeks ago at Sac. raceway. The SVP R has:
Skunk head
Skunk cams
Skunk computer
Skunk cam gears
clutch
MSD 7al (or6al)
MSD 2 step launch control
RC500cc injectors
Fields SFC (my old one I sold him)
runs just a header for wieght
AEM CAI
Stripped interior (just has the dash and two stock seats)
(runs 4-lug front civic brakes and slicks for extra lightness at the drags)
has a hidden sprayer in the wheel well areas that sprays a sticky compond on the street tires
But yeah the SVP can be jerks at times. I was lucky enought to be friends with Gill (the owner of the R) before the hype. I'm also friends with acouple of other SVP people. They have trully done good work with that R. The whp on the R is around 198-208whp and 131-138trq. They also have a 98 NOS'd R that they are still building up.

I just couldnt stand to drive a stipped down car every day... Granted its hard to argue with timeslips, I just love my leather and stereo http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif Did you say that 12.77 was run on an allmotor car? Not bad... make it a little lighter and that thing would really fly.

My bad. thats pretty fast. How can type R have 208hp to the wheel that hits 12.7 and a integra with a 8psi blower hitting 230 or so hp and only able to get mid or low 13?

If you strip the blown one down and mount slicks on it with a launch control, you will able a to hit that. See its not about power to an extent. As Lawerence from DSR said, "its all about weight and the launch". You should see the supra's at the runs. When they race, they turn up the boost and try to launch. Little do the learn that hooking up is part of the game. You should see my car. In 1st gear I spin to red line if I floor it. Even if I bog it off the line then floor it, my car stil lwont hook up. Heck I can spin 2nd gear to redline if I'm not careful. My point is, this R has no weight. He removed all the critical parts on the car that have weight. He also runs slicks with a MSD 2 step launch controll. Look at Steves Sakei's R. He has around 205whp on his N/A R with Toda stuff and hits a 12.7 also yet he has a full interior with slicks! Thats impressive!!!!

I used to go to the street races back in the day when they met up in Berryessa. Since then I guess I've become older and wiser, because I realized how dangerous those activities can be. A friend of mine was seriously injured when a motorcyclist lost control while doing a wheelie sending a 400lb bike into a crowd of people.
Too many stupid high school kids out nowadays.

Coming from a very anal type R owner, I give respect to SVP for putting up with all the shit that gets spread about them. Yeah they can be very rude at the races and only the R runs 90% of the time, however they are the only team their willing to put their balls on the line to race. If you ask them anytime to race they most likely will pending on your car. People say the use NOS (which is a lie, people say it has a hidden turbh, which is also a lie, etc...) Also the newest thing is they spray a chemical on their tires before they race. Its said they have hidden injectors in the wheelwell area the spary a chemical that melts the rubber to help with the launch! LoL Anyway I saw it with my own eyes run a 12.755 3 times in a row in Sac on Jan 7th. You can call my shop and ask Lawerence or Dick about it. We were all blown away. I talked to a member of SVP the night before and he said it would hit around 13.2-12.7! Talk about dead on the money. Especally since their last recorded run was a 12.4 or 12.6! Anyway I also saw it race your firends Firebird, along with another firebird WAY before that. The one with the suspossed NOS was raced at least 6 times. 2 or the 6 were a close to a tie. The other 4 the R won.
Anyway, everyone here knows I will call BS on any type R number/record/mod/etc... that sounds fishy. The SVP R however is for real. Its hard for me to give props to a team that turned a "track/turning" car into a "drag/no-turn" R, however this team deserves the credit for making a amazingly fast R.

Do you go to the runs anymore? I would love to meet up with you guys sometime. Or just look for me. I'm normally in a type R everytime I go. Just look for us, or look for M motorsports (drak purple M3 and ML55).
I will probally go going this Friday night and not Sat (Gotta get rest for the ITR meet in Oakland).

I was at Texas Heat Wave in Austin (car and truck show) and some idiot in a brand new Camaro SS that daddy must have bough him was lighting his tires up getting sideways, then lost control, went through a fence and slammed into custom full size chevy... I'd just like to clear the air here for that SVP Type R. It raced my friend's LS1 3 times and lost each time. The LS1 has NO NOS, NO Turbo, NO SC and no heads/cam. He had full I/H/E however. I was told the car doesn't run consistant times nor can he do that 12.xx on street tires. The funny part is that they said he didn't have street tires on the last race. Shrug, that group has known to be a bunch of jerks AND lie about their mods so f'em. I got more respect for tons of others on this board and in the Bay Area. Too bad I gave up on my Teg or I'd hve shown him what a fast Integra really is =D

I've seen that SVP R run a 13.7 Sac raceway a few months ago. I think he has a sticker that claims 13 second all motor. Hummmm.......
