Now, I know that there are several individuals on this board that either live in Conway, AR or come to Conway on a regular basis. I have been working in the area for about 3 months now. I need a place to live. Where should I live of the following four choices?
1. Centennial Valley (On Hogan Road)
2. WestLakes (On Hogan Road)
3. Ridge at Meadowlake (at the corner of meadowlake and donaghey)
4. ChapelRidge (on 2nd street)
I work on Collier Drive which is just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Oak Street exit off of I-40.
If anyone has any information on any of the above mentioned apartments (say if someone lived at one of them or has lived in them in the past) that would be helpful, please let me know.

the ridge is most convenient... access to 40,
restaurants... and the big ass wal-mart...
centennial valley and westlake is not my main
preference because i've seen the insides to
them... and although they are the typical layout
(as the ridge is, i'm sure).... i see nothing
special about them.
the problem i have with the ridge is that it
is right at the intersection... making it difficult
to make a left to get onto the main access road
for the freeway...
however, it is a gated community (are the others?
i can't remember).... which is always a plus, IMO.
i'm not sure how many rooms you want, but there
are also those 2 bdrm thingies just behind
sonshine academy.... you have multiple accesses
in and out of the place... they are back from
the main road... and they are new.
if i had to choose between the 4 you listed,
the ridge gets my vote. however, i'd be more
inclined to search a bit more. there are tons
of better places...

those are just the four that i have come across in my limited searches, it seems that most of the apartments are not very well advertised. Those there behind sunshine academy i believe you called it, those are very near to the ridge as well right there off donaghey, aren't they? i was going to go look at those, but i didn't get a chance.
The ridge is gated and the others have gates but i don't think they are used.
size, i am looking for a 2 bedroom but would be happy with a large one bedroom. I am wanting square footage of close to 750 feet if i can get it for a reasonable price (under 500).
if you have any other apartments that you would suggest, I have open ears.

yeah... those 2 bedrooms i was referring to are
behind the ridge in that little bend the road
goes in just after the red light...
there are lots of good places that aren't advertised.
mainly because the damn log cabin democrat charges
out the ass for a basic ad.
try looking up INVERNESS in the conway phone book.
they have lots of rental spaces and aren't often
advertised.
inverness isn't a large apartment complex like
the ridge and the others. i don't know if you
remember of even saw my first apartment, but it
was leased through inverness. it was only $400
for a 2 bdrm... all utilities paid but elec.
plus a washer and dryer. can't beat that.
screw it. i tried looking up the phone # for you,
and i guess i'm inept like a mo fo cuz i can't
find it.
i know the guy also works at 'the carpet center'.
now... don't be all gay and scared to call just
because it SEEMS screwy. 327-0924
just ask if there are any rentals available and
blah blah blah.... you're a big boy, you know.
now back to those behind the ridge...
i know they are new because i saw them being
built, and i remember when they were done...
they had some ad in the paper about them. i
think they are all 2 bdrms.
another gay thing is... sometimes it doesn't
hurt to drive around. like i said, most don't
put advertisements in the paper... instead,
they use picketed signs.
thats how i found my first apt.

I really appreciate the help. I will give that guy a call at the carpet barn (or whatever it's called) and see what he has. Also, on saturday, my fiance and I had planned on driving around the and looking at those few i had named and in the process we will keep a look out at some other places to try out.
i will give you an update on monday on how things went.

How did the apt. hunting go?
when i was up there yesterday I saw a nice place.
it was a 3br house with front and back yard and everything. you could get a few buddies to move in with you to help with the rent. and its in a good location too!
my finders fee is 10%.

marguerite vann (on a cul-de-sac) for only
$600....
i would have liked to have jumped on that...
but i despise moving so much...

still no decisions although i have narrowed it down to either the ridge or somewhere in maumelle (don't feel like explaining that)
i still am goign to do some more searching, ie. June Beene apartments, roth-hal or something like that and i believe there is one other place i am going to take a look at. oh yes, those two suggestions you made in one of the previous posts. i didn't get a chance to take a look at those, in all honesty, we only had time to look at those four that i mentioned in the first post. she had some premeire jewlry party to attend until like 1:00 and then my paretns offered to take us to dinner, so we didn't have a lot of time here in conway. but we did decide that the ridge was the best place for us right now from what we have seen.

The one i saw looked pretty good, but it is REALLY close to the UCA campus so I'm not sure I would wanna live there. In fact, you could probably listen in to some of your classes by just opening the bedroom window.
BUT it did have yard and all that shit and it looked fairly new.

it is a deal similar to tupperware, pampered chef and things like. there is a seller, the host and the participants. the seller throws the pitch that eveyrone should buy the jewewlry that is marked up close to 1000% and then the host, depending on how much the participants buy gets free jewewlry. then the seller gets half of what she sells, and there is the whole pyramid scheme behind it. from what i have read into it, it is a fairly good money maker. it is possible to make in excess of 1000 dollars a week in a matter of about 2 years or so. (granted individual results may vary)
if you would like to get involved, i can let you host a party sometime, i think i might get cristi to start after we get married. (laugh all you want, i am all about trying to make some easy money)
oh yeah, her aunt already does it, and she is making pretty good money already.

Yes, in a way it is like a fun party. the stones in them are probably plastic. i really do'nt know, it is all costume jewelry. you know the real gaudy stuff you can get at dillards. i don't like the stuff, and i think it is pretty cheap, but they do put a lifetime warranty on it, so it can't be that bad.

Well, now i have narrowed it down to either the ridge or june beene apartments. the both cost the same per month, the square footage is almost identical. the only differences are:
the ridge has a gated entrance, june beene does not (advantage june beene)
june beene has a very bad layout with the bathroom the same size as the dining room and the kitchen, whereas the ridge has a very open layout (advantage ridge)
i will be making a final decision tonight and letting everyone know where i will be living.
i did call inverness and drove around, well inverness had nothing open right now, adn allt he number i was able to pick up after driving around were either long distance, fax numbers, or answering machines and no one called me back.

Just say the word and I will come pick you up and we will go take pictures of these places.
Then I will come back and post the pictures on here and we can let the acropolis members vote on where you should live.

Yes, you are correct Shatzy. Although, I have decided to live in The Ridge. so really no more input is necessary.
If it is desireable to the board, it is possible that I post a few pictures of the apartment that I will hopefully be moving into. I already have a few pictures of the apartment already.
I will wait for a response from the consensus.( i don't think i used that right)
