Wow! Great stuff. I like that line "The crickets along the shore". I'm not sure why. I just like to say it aloud and I like the way it sounds.

I may have posted some of this before, but here are few poems....
Drinks And Feelings Flow 7/18/94
One's too many on an empty stomach,
And I don't really like her much.
One too many are asking to dance,
And I'm afraid to take that chance.
Amid this swirl of music I despise,
I've tried to convince you with my lies.
Don't you know that all I want,
Is just the surrounding gesture
Of you and love's court jester.
Under the glow of the moon,
May this evening end soon.
So no mistake is made,
Before my love begins to fade.
-----------------------------
Night Of The Moon 2/4/96
It matters not to me
Those who cannot see
What stands above so beautifully.
The moon stands in her
Utmost glory. Creating
The brilliance of light,
That forever in my mind burns bright.
While the sun always shines
The same intent all the time,
It is the moon that changes it's mood
For everyday that our feeble minds brood.
It is this rare night and circle of light,
That encases in its grasp, the sight,
From my eyes that bore upon the heavens.
May I be blessed to some day be given
Another chance to see the gates of Heaven
-----------------------------------------
Peace 3/11/00
The wind tosses me lightly in the hammock,
Kissing my skin, running it?s fingers through my hair.
I hear the music of the lake.
The crickets along the shore, distant boaters headed in
For the night, and the rumbling of the thunderstorm, fast approaching.
My eyes close in peace, my soul soothed for one night.
-------------------------------------
Cluttered Corners 4/8/94
To the right, straight
Ahead, sits the newspaper.
Late again, to be thrown
Away. To the left, turn
Your head, sits the
Magazines. Some to save,
Others to follow the paper.
In the middle, clear and
Free. Nothing, just space.
An attempt at order. The
Corners tell the truth.
Thanks, Lamech. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif I'll post more when I get home, if I find the time tonight.

Call me what you want, just don't call me Blue Falcon. Wait! Nevermind! Just call me!
Your smell floats in my memory, long after you've gone.
"You don't go for that male stuff, do you, Butch?"
i like the middle two best. "peace" reminds me of "autumn comes to martins ferry, ohio" by james wright (one of my favorite poems ever).

Thanks for the compliments. Jones, that peace poem is a poem version of an essay I once wrote. In case you cared.
More stuff folks:
Later 04/01/00
Your smell floats in my memory, long after you?ve gone.
I look for more memories of you to soothe my new reality
Of life with you missing, off to new adventure.
No clues reside, my eyes falling on nothing new,
My ears hearing dull sounds of ordinary.
I cling to that smell, hope springing eternal
That someday, you?ll refresh my senses in vivid reality.
--------------------------------
After Effect 5/24/94
The step has been taken.
No chance to change things.
Don't want to. What lies
Down the unknown road? Anger,
Fear, hate. Redemption afterwards;
Maybe. The price one pays to
Start life. Why do we have to
Hurt others in order to grow?
The one I love the most, I now
Fear the most. Can't change what I am.
Can I change what she feels? If
Our love is to survive,
Something must.
---------------------------------
Beyond Me 2/28/96
Who do you think of
When you don't think of me?
Where does your mind wander
When it walks away from me?
Why would you want to be
Where I can not be?
Who else can care for you
When I'm not around?
I suppose what I really want
To know, is what I'm to do
Now that you no longer think of me.
----------------------------------------
Getting Through It 7/4/93
A smile plays on my face
Whenever I think of you.
Laughter wafts through
My memories, smells of
Your cooking touch my nose,
And advice springs up in
My ears once more. "Dago"
Nose reappears after a long
Absence. Memories of you are
So strong, nearly as strong
As you've been your whole life.
I don't want to lose the teasing,
The hugs, and daily smiles.
I have no choice, though.
The memories will give me
The strength to make it without
You. Forever will they play
In my mind, and never will I
Lose the love of you.
----------------------------
I Cry 04/08/00
I cry for you because I can?t hold you.
I cry for you because someone has to
Feel your fears and release your pain.
I cry so you can sustain
Within your world of demon reign.
I cry because I care.
And don?t you dare
Try to excuse my pain
Of seeing you within this vein.
I cry because you won?t release it all.
And if you don?t I?ll roll into a ball
And cry until the demon?s gone.

Somw more stuff.
Every Girl 11/2/92
I stand watching as
The wind blows around
Her.
I want to be
The wind,
I want to caress her skin,
Run through her hair,
And surround her with
All of me.
---------------------
Patient Desires 7/24-8/8/96
I remember the feel of your
breast against my fingers.
I remember the touch of your
stomach under my hand.
I remember the sound of your
breath in time with mine.
We were only sleeping in that
bed together, but how I wished for
so much more.
------------------------------
The Crush of Love 12/1/95
I watch from afar. Her
Hair envelopes my eyes.
The rest of her envelopes
My soul. Her eyes are
Hidden behind the glass.
Secrets they yet won't
Reveal. A shell is shown,
But I only view the cracks.
I used to be in there. I can
Pull her out. My thoughts dance
With what I could do with her.
Let me give her freedom supreme.
Her feigned attempts have worn
Me thin. I'll give her the dance
Of light, and the meaning of true
Laughter. She can find herself.
We'll search together.
-----------------------------
The Knowing Friend 1/10/93
Most of all, I miss you.
You knew the truth about
Yourself before I knew mine.
Perhaps you knew mine.
I've always wondered.
I want to find you. I
Think I need to. If
Only I'd known, and
Told you. Did we start
To grow apart? A fear filled
Me in the end, A lack in
Confidence of what kind of
Friend I was, or could've been.
Fear of what might have happened
Between us if only I'd known,
God, I miss you. Will you
Ever know? I need you to.
-------------------------------
Reflection of What I Was 12/10/95
I look in your eyes
And see the mirror of
My past self. I know you
Watch me. I sense the
Distance to your soul.
You're vulnerable, but
Won't let the walls show
It.
Another........
My Faithful Stand 4/11/00
I try not to cry
As I hear you say goodbye.
I want to ease your pain
That within your mind has reigned.
This journey you must partake
Is one only you alone can take.
Please know I?ll stand here and wait
Until the time you come back to me like fate.

"See that star...the one shining brighter than all the others? I know the girl who hung it there."
After Cloud Nine 10/10/1997
I knew what the water was
Like when I jumped in.
I just told myself it
Would feel different this time.
What?s amusing to me, is
That you were afraid I
Would be saying to you,
The painful words you
Are now saying to me.
How naive you were
To think you wouldn?t
Feel this way. How
Naive I was, to think
You wouldn?t feel this way.
I suppose I?ll always wonder
How much the night
Before affected the morning
After.
Decisions 04/16/00
I look at your sorrow
And wonder about tomorrow.
Shall I dance away your tears?
Or help you put away your fears?
You let me know
So together we can grow.

Epitaph For My Grandmother 7/4/93
Four little lines
Can never say
What you were
To me.
----------------------
Forever The Friend 5/21/96
I'm torn up inside
Because she is.
I want to be the soother,
And savior, but I can't
Heal her broken heart.
I know how she feels-
To love someone more than
That someone loves you.
That's why I must always be
Her friend, and nothing
More.
---------------------
Scrappy The Dog 4/5/94-2/18/96
Scrappy with the toys.
The green, red, and yellow ones.
He prefers the green one.
Poor pitiful guy, with blank
Eyes, and antenna ears.
Too tiny to be anything
But a little man.
-------------------------
Pebble's Adventure 4/8/94
Cat's gone.
New life maybe.
The dog's alone now.
Where is she? How'd she
Leave? Thought she was
Happy. Maybe it
Was the heat.
----------------------
This one's not really a poem. A short commentary on a camping trip.
First Night There 1/29/96
It was the wind that touched me first. Soothing my hair as the stars reminded me of their presence. It has been so long since I felt that momentary peace. Away, if only for seconds, from the internal and external pressures. Once inside the cabin, the laughter would start. So would the tension. For now, I'll just swing on the porch, feel the wind cleanse me, listen to nature's lullabies, watch the stars humble me, and let the cold remind me of the shortness of my inner peace.
Heh, and not to mention that I found on this adult hostboard talking crazy about sex doings.

Find Me 04/24/00-04/26/00
I don?t say anything profound.
All I?m looking for is to be found
By someone who can awaken
This life I?ve always been faking.
A life of dreams and feigned wisdom
Could come true inside your kingdom
Of love and strength and caring.
A life I could be happy sharing
If only someone would find me
And allow me to be
The profound one of their dreams
And cure both our seams.
mmmmmmm... *nods head, eyes closed*
I've been saying that for years, just not as eloquently. Very good.
You were saying something about plain, bland poetry?
Fek to that.

Another.
Getting Tired 04/28/00
Getting tired of you.
Getting sick of this
Getting close to you.
Getting tired of the crying
And the pain of wanting, having,
Then losing of you.
Always the same.
Always this pain
Of allowing myself to become
Attached, like a raft, pulled into your sun.
Won?t I ever learn
How this will burn
Right through my soul
And continue to take its toll
On my heart
When we?re apart?
Getting tired of this.
It?s no longer bliss.
Forgot one or two. First one still needs work.
What Really Matters 04/28/00
I?m off to war.
And off to pour
Out my pound
On this merry-go-round
Of life?s little truss
That causes such a fuss.
They call it relationship,
But I think it needs a fix.
To be more of what we wish
And not just some dish
Of happiness we assume divine
Which often leaves us blind
To what really matters.
Within our hearts we batter,
To be complete unto our goals.
Never lose sight of your soul.
-----------------------------
Here It Is Again 04/28/00
Why do you always mean more to me
Than I do to you?
Can?t I just find the one
Who finds me more than fun?
Am I supposed to drift through my life
Relieving yours, but gaining more strife?
However brief it?s going to be
Is the one thing I never see.
I pin my hopes on the next line
And find myself in another bind
Of wanting more than she can give.
I get sick of this way I live.
[This message has been edited by Branflakes (edited April 28, 2000).]

Also, "Here It Is Again" is another reflection of my life, almost too perfectly.

Rough draft coming up, just wrote.
I Wanna 04/28/00
I want to be heard
I don't want to be third.
I want to be real
To all that you feel.
I want to be yours.
I want to be formed
By the hope of your dreams
Which, within, I can firm
To the dreams that are mine
So that we can both be
All the glory we see.
One more from last night (errr, this morning).
A Little Bard 04/28/00
Life is rough,
Life is hard
And I don?t feel like such a bard.
But I will write
And you will read.
And we will each fulfill a need.
Two States Away 05/01/00
I stand in sadness,
Forgotten gladness
As I watch her leave
Dust while I grieve.
For my loved one gone
I now feel forlorn.
Without you near
How do I fight my fear
That I?ll never be
The someone you see
Inside of me?

Going to Bed 05/04/00
Tired, tired, tired.
Need to sleep, sleep, sleep.
Starts to dream, dream, dream.
Of her, her, her.
Nice, nice, nice dream.
BLARE, BLARE, BLARE of the
Alarm, alarm, alarm.
Wake, wake, wake.
Sigh, sigh, sigh.
Back to life, life, life.

I Wonder and Wander 05/09/00
I wonder where I should wander.
Which road should I blunder
While I debate my case
Of standing on a base
Not knowing where to turn
Or where my fires should burn?
I'll cautiously take a step
On this road I should've kept
In front the whole time
Instead of wandering like a mime.
These are great, Bran. Nice to see you've got a bit of impetus in your writing (the 28th of April must've been an interesting day!) Ummm, WHEN was I wonder and wander written?
Thanks, Ersby, glad you like. Yes, the 28th was a VERY bad day for me. I have such days, where everything in life feels like it's hitting me at once. But, at least some good stuff came out of it.
"I Wonder and Wander" was written on the date I'm showing, the 9th, Tuesday, I believe it was. I was on the boards very briefly and typed that one on the spot. The first sentence had been in my head for a while, I finally turned it into something.

Milk getter: your poems are ok... I can't really get into some of them but I really like that "dream dream dream of her her her" one.
Other i feel as if they're rhymed for the sake of being rhymed. But that just me as the others seem to like it.

Not Much Of A Friend
I wish you could trust me.
I wish I could understand why you don?t trust me.
Am I so self-centered
That beyond my two eyes
I can never see what lies
Within your heart?
I know I?d give you the world
But the world isn?t what you want.
I?m too blind to see beyond your surface.
I?m too scared to look below mine.
Rough draft....
No Help Wanted
06/25/00
I know your heart and intent
Was placed in care and thought.
It?s the words, again, that infuriate
Me to no end. I?m not the type you so
Strongly feel will just step out there
And give the world a whirl.
Leave me to my place and private space.
Stop shoving me where I will not go.
I?ve let you take your path to love
And only hope you?ll let me walk mine.
I like this. It assert individuality in relationships and we all need our own mind when it comes to relations matters. Good job there bran...
