I guess there are some things I'll never understand. please note.. DOHC Vtec sticker, and the Civic Type R sticker, and then reality.

hey man. don't knock my car. i'm working with a very limited budget. i had extra paint left after i got done with the intake tube and the wipers so i said what the heck and i shot the vavle cover. i don't think i did too bad of a job. just kidding. it's not mine. i guess some people just have different tastes. to each his own i guess.
you have to understand preformance is not for everyone, some just want their car to look a little better. Lets not knock on others........

Ok ... I have to be honset here, I didn't really know what you guys were talking about when you keep calling certain cars "rice" and I see all the anti-rice banners going around ... well, along time ago, when I only used to own domestics (and never thought I would own an import) ... I thought ALL imports were "rice" (BTW no offense to anyone, I drive a '97 EX and it's a great car)...but I guess that defintion has changed considerably . So I assume now when you call a guys ride "ricey" it's because some guy hangs silly banners and decals, and is not really performance orieanted, so what else would be considered "ricey" besides just silly stuff ? ...like are light mods ricey ?..how about body kits ? are they ricey ?... please remember the town I live in is not all that big ... but I have seen plenty of cars like the one shown, (I always thought they looked silly too) I just didn't know that this is the type of setup that everyone was calling "ricey" ...
And in closing, eveyone will be glad to know that if this is ricey ...I can assume that MY car is not ...

it seems that people have different opinions on whats ricey. what some might consider a nice looking mod others would think definite rice.
I also think "to each his own", but "lying" about what your car is or has under the hood is RICE in my opinion. I think you can put as many stickers on your car as you want...as long as you can back it up. If you looked at my car you couldn't tell anything about it (stickerless) except that it is lowered. Well....except for the JR sticker across the windshield. I like it man...layoff..he he. Well anyway I HAVE a SC and I CAN back it up. Thats the point.

just paint the cover a little better without plattering the paint everywhere. get rid of the windshield banner and get some better rims.

hehe, i use to have the JR banner on my windshield as well, but then I realized that I had a lot less fun with it on there. People tended to avoid conflicts even though I am definitely not a big street racer and actually never instigated a race before, but lets just say I have a lot more fun now that the banner is gone. In the week following the banner removal, I had fun with a few mustangs, a Z28, and a boxster, now that's a much better week in my opinion(especially if you win...)

Okay quick question, as the def. on rice verys from person to person. Sense there is no such thing as a USDM CTR then is it considered rice to put a type R sticker on any civic in the US?!? I have had TYPE R on my car for about three years now, and in the last year I think I now have a car to back it up with : )
But as for the car in question why is the bottom of the hood painted red????

All of this can easily be explained by a report that 20/20 is doing next month. The cause of the phenomenom that you call "rice", where a car appears to be one type and is another can be explained by a mystic phenomenon known as spontaneous trim level transformation. The exact cause of this phenomenom is unknown, but the details are all too familiar to all of us: the driver of a Type-R, GSR or Si awakens to find that his powertrain, and interior have been mysteriously downgraded overnight. All that remains of his car's former trim level are a couple of VTEC stickers and a badge. The involvement of Alien forces have not been confirmed or denied in this shocking phenomenom. Although any import owner (there have even been reports of domestic occurences) is vulnerable to Spontaneous trim level degredation, the phenomenon seems to mostly affect socially challenged youths who's cars are in their parent's names.
I can't wait to see the report next month. Anyway, I suggest you all try to take this with the seriousness that it merits.

I think I heard about that syndrome. As I understand it, this phenomenom most often occurs to High trim imports that are parked outdoors.
I think that they have actually linked high performance trim components to mechanisms necessary for intergalactic travel.
Please park your high trim level cars in a secure place.
