Damn Jim, I thought I was the only 32x32 that walks around like a damn fool with the sticker on. That happened to me a few weeks ago and I went to dinner, movie, and the bars with it still on. I actually DID NOT work overtime on Friday... I was certainly close, but I was barely tardy. I was in fact supposed to close up shop on Friday at around 5:30pm. The 4G civic I had been saving was moments from completion and a car was to be delivered by 4pm so that I could stuff a B16A into it beginning on Monday... well, the car showed up at about 5:45... a customer who was picking up another B16A for his own project showed up at about the same time... and the 4G civic just didn't seem to want to be "timed" properly... so, in a totally frantic whirlwind, I ran from project to project in a syncronous orbit to get finished. By 6:30, the first B16A was loaded up and gone... the 5G H/B was pushed into place safely inside the shop... and its new heart was unloaded and sitting nearby. The 4G civic was finally idling with its timing set at 17.5 degrees, and I was trying to finalize payment with the owner. His CC gets declined !!! AAAAARRRRGGGGGG !!! So, a frantic 15 minute phone call to his CC company straightens things out and I am blazing for the house.
I call the wife to let her know I am on the way... and ask her to lay out some clothing for me to change into.
I run inside, forgo the shower and simply shave my face and wash up. New clothes go on and we are on the way to dinner. I had been told days earlier that we were meeting another couple for a nice quiet dinner at 7pm at a restaurant near our home. We actually arrive at 7:05pm

As we walk in, I am greeted by not only the expected couple, but a gathering of a few of my close friends and local customers. SURPRISE !!! We sit down, and my pals begin force-feeding me shots (first Crown Royal, then some Quervo Gold, and a couple of Dos Equis). The whole dinner ordeal lasts for over three hours... and I must say, I had a great time.

Funny thing... at one point late in the evening, I had to excuse myself from the table to make a restroom break. I stood up, turned and began to walk away toward the Men's room... and I suddenly begin to hear laughter from my table. I think nothing of it, and make my way to the bathroom. After I had relieved myself, I was making my exit from the men's room... another man met me at the doorway, which I gladly held open for him to pass... and as I noticed a very strange hairstyle on this gentleman, I happened to turn my head to watch him pass as he entered the bathroom. To my horror, as my eyes made contact with the mirror across the way... I spotted a very large sticker on the right upper thy area of the back of my BRAND NEW LEVI'S !!! You know the one I am talking about... it has 32x32 printed on it about twenty times to show the damn size !!! I ripped it off and made my way back to the table. Of course, everyone was staring at me when I returned... and I then realized that they were laughing at me when I left just moments ago... I informed them that the tag had been discovered and I would not be laughed at the next time I went to the bathroom... that is, unless they found the back of the 3' diameter sombrerro I was wearing humorous...

One more interesting tid-bit from the evening... I got CARDED when I ordered my first beer !!! Now, I know I have a bit of a babyface... but at the ripe old age of 34 now, you would think that it would be painfully obvious that I was old enough. MacGyver sat right next to me... and he DID NOT get carded... and he is barely 21 !!!

Go figure.

Lastly, how did you all know it was my Birthday ???

Thanks for reminding me just how much untapped potential my car has! We are agreed on the fact it needs a lot of work under the hood work, but the exterior is good to go. Too bad I missed the Jose shots. That would have been awesome. Maybe in July? By the way, what do I have to do to post pictures? Later.
