At the moment I'd say Godfather as I just bought the trilogy on DVD. When I get around to watching part 2 that will probably take its place. My favoured films change with the wind.
Goodfellas is also up there, which leads me to my favourite director: Martin Scorsese.

theres a lot of good stuff out there...to plagarise a quote: "Good films you know, good films you don't"....any way here are just a few: Godfather Trilogy, North by Northwest, Spielberg, Copola, Kubrick, Scorsece, Hithcock....unfortunaltely Lucas doesn't make the list...sorry to disapoint!

and anyone who put lucas or spielberg....sort it out for fucks sake.
lucas did one impressive film then chased in like a greedy weinstein, and spielberg...well anyone with 8,0000,0000,0000,00000,0000 dollars behind him can made mainstream-attracting pretty films.
------------------
Film: The 7th Seal.
Dir: Terry Gilliam

I love film. I always have and cant wait to get some experience other than the usual ramblings that I do.
whats wrong with spielberg?....you can't deny his genius after seeing shindlers list...as for lucas i dont see him as a film maker more of a technician, finding more ways to pay his actors less and less....

Not true. Two of Spielbergs best films are Jaws and Duel, both made without masses of money. (especially Duel)
If anyone could make a great film on a Spielberg budget then there wouldn't be so many shit films as they all have high budgets nowadays.

This is stupid, you cannot pick one best or favourite movie (or at least I can't)... you can on the other hand pick a best GENRE movie. anyways, so what if amblin thinks Speilberg is the best director, he is ONE of the best. just because this is an independant board does not mean we should all hate non independant directors, you know pe11_200.
favourite film? many
favourite directorS... tarrantino, speilberg, stanley kubrick... and maybe some more... and the spelling are probably wrong.
