It is supposed to be the Civic.... They shot it back in December.

I too agree with Jim on wanting to see numbers quoted BUT I realize that seeing a "Japanese Import Hot Rod" in Hot Rod is like seeing the devil being praised in the Bible. The guys who read this magazine probably hate Civic's more than anything. For the publishers to go and allow an article about a souped up Civic is mind blowing.

I just talked to Larry.... Apparently that is not the case. The issue is out. Larry is already getting flack for it. Those "Hot Rod" guys don't like the idea of an import in their mag. Why can't we all just get along?
Do you know what issue its in? Id like a copy.. I tell you what, these hotrod guys are what started it all so they should be happy that us youngsters are keeping that spirit alive.. no matter which way you wanna candy coat it we are doing the same shit that they did back in the day.. its just going through a metamorphoses, thats all like it or lump it we are here to stay.. I believe that the whole movement has finally enough grip to stay...
so what issue is it in?

Honest officer, I had no idea how fast I was going...the speedometer only gos to 150...
I think that one of the big reasons he made it into the Hot Rod mag is because that is where his "Roots" are in. He used to build and race hot rods from what I understand. Stuff like the soft head concept was developed on a hot rod. Hot Rod knows Larry's stuff is 4REAL and it is great to see them daring to open many eyes to the fabulous world of IMPORT. One unfortunate thing though, all those hot rod guys will be looking for Civics or honda's in gengeral because they will see the numbers Larry is turning and have no idea what that really means in import terms nor what it takes to get them. LS Sedan with TypeR JRSC M62 @ 6psi, Kamikaze 2.5" header, 2.5" CAT, TypeR cat-back, J&S, T.O.O catch can, etc.
I saw that issue at Barnes & Noble. the civic H/B runs a 11.04 1/4 mile with a 134 trap speed. The engine bay looks stock to the untrained eye. the writers said he been driving the car for 2 years with 3 oil changes and 2 spark plug changes. It even pass smog for running such high boost. What's kick ass is he uses the m62 blower we use on our gsr and itr. keep it up larry. we all know you are the fastest single cam blower out there and maybe even the fastest. Much love to you and your work. You should be on the cover of all the import mags.
