Sheesh...March 31st.
Ok, where do we head for next?
And I finally got to senior status, too
hey this must be a record.
maybe we should start a new game.
"i can close down that site in . . . 4 weeks."
"i can close down that site in three weeks and two days . . ."
just a reminder--speculative vision seems like a solid and reliable sight--and it is STILL underused.
or we can swallow our pride (do we actually have any?) and go back to the "let's write a term paper" scifi site.

Spec. is nice. Community Zero has all the amenities, great chat, and they'll work out the gram problem, so my vote is for one of those. I prefer Communtiy Zero Board format to The authoring area at SciFi VIne.
Although does the sale of the board neccessarily mean a bad thing. Does anyone know what their intentions are (The new owners that is)

LOL I give up. Community Zero makes sense to me, then again its the only other place I have really checked out.
at least copying posts from here will be easy. (grins)
Well, it looks like its time for the Flying Dutchman to sail on, hostboard is closing. Argh!
I just read the announcment for today from hostboard and it could be that hostboard is not going anywhere.
Ya know, I have moved more frequently on the internet then I have in my real life.
LOL PC, I know how you feel. I like CommunityZero; I don't quite feel as lost as I do at SV, tho it's a very fine site. Basically, so long as I get to yak wit' you folks, I am happy anywhere.

One of the reasons I like hostboard is that all the topics are in one place. Community Zero is a decent set up but the topics are scattered in folders and the like. I know once I figure it out, it will make more sense but I like that right now I can find everything I want on one board
Yah, that's true, PC, OTOH, I like being able to see what topics are current via the 'what's new' feature at CZ. But you're right, it's a matter of getting used to new setups anywhere we go... it's good for you -- keeps you mentally alert ;-)

I'm confused...what happened to the topics we used to have?
Bmat,
If you mean they don't show up anymore, there hasn't been activity on many of the topics for a few days. Do you have your date range set to just 2 days? If you reset it to a higher number of days, you'll see topics that have been active since that many days.
Thank you, Sindatur!! The site burped a couple days ago losing my nick, and I thought it must have lost topics also.
I have returned to the board after a looooong absence. Good to be back. Now look'n at the fun topics.
Now the headlines say "New Owner" for Hostboard. I take that to mean the March 31st deadline isn't a deadline anymore. Anyone else know one way or the other?
Welcome, MorganaK!!! Great to see you here!
One of the posters at another board has purchased the site and intends to keep it as it is.
The site will be going down for a day or two for maintenance and transfering to his server.
Hi Bmat. Thanks http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif Good to be back.
AsIs [Dang! I wanta put a "Z" in there].
That is good news about the site. I don't want to do a Flying Dutchman.
Can anyone tell me the HTML tag to turn a URL into a clickable link?
Sindatur... that would be
<A HREF="url address here">clickable
link text here</A>
Got it?
Thanks Ian, worked like a charm.

Well, the date has been set, March 30th we lose Sci Fi Sites. (sigh) check your email
Crash, Heat sank when I read the Founders email. It sure is a sad day. I will miss the original vines. The people made the community!
Profcrash,
I, for one, want to send you a big thank you for being the one to direct us poor refugees from Pathfinder to the SciFiVine. It was a great trip while it lasted and I have come a long way technically from my association with it.
Once more, thanks for being there for us when we needed you.

Yea PC, what Absom said
Thanks guys. I'll pass that on to the others that helped make that move.
(wipes a tear from her eye) Yah know, its all about the people.
Does anyone know exactly when they are pulling the plug on the vines? Some of us at TCV are planning a Titannic Wake. It would be nice to be there as close as possible to the dreaded event.
While not settled on time yet, anyone here is welcome to come to our little party.
Stop by my home there:

Off to ride....

Sewing Circle Topic is trying to find ScifiVine when you try to access it.
I think the Mightylady was a little too mighty when she brought her post over and accidently linked the topic to ScifiVine, maybe.
Hey gang, I will try and remember to log into Communtiy Zero, since it has a gram like feature it might be easier for people who want to chat to snag me there, especially those without ICQ.
For the most part, I will be posting here. I like the set up and I am comfy.
Ironic, huh, Crash? this looks a whole lot like WebX, which is why we left <s>Pathfinder</s> in the first place. Same complaints: no post titles, gotta scroll down through all the old posts to get to the new ones. Ah well, home is where ya hang yer hat.
Meanwhile, the Thugs are taking over Admin. at SFV til it closes.
Since ScifiVine has been down since Yesterday sometime, does that mean they're gonna extend the deadline a couple days beyond March 30. Or is this actually the end now??
The lack of post titles and a posting index is like WebX but that is as far as the similarities go. Finding anything in WebX was next to impossible and it didn't allow for the use of html in posts.
Oh, and the Pathfindre Admin acted like twits (not that I was really much better behaved myself)
Merle, log into Community Zero and lets see if you can use the IM system there
Crash, I sent you an authorization, although it may be from Karina
There will be new B5. YESSSSSS
It was announced at the Sci Fi Channel that there is a new B5 movie that could lead into a new series
REad here
WOOHOO. Now let's hope they have the good sense not to lose interest in it like TNT did with Crusade
Sci Fi probably won't, they know better
Do they? Two words: Black Scorpion. ;-)
Don't be upset Ran, they didn't dump it yet, they just moved it to Saturday.
