Talk about the latest movie you've seen, want to see or anything like that here.
I saw Gangs of New York yesterday. Some critics love it and some say it's really bad, but I liked it.
Really harsh action I haven't seen before in a film due to cencorships. It was interesting to see how Amsterdam (leonardo dicaprio) would develop his revenge towards the killer of his father, Bill the Butcher (acted really great). Although I think it could've been pulled off better, I was statisfied at the end. Martin Scorcese is a great director, and the production design was awesome too. The next movie I'll see will probably be Catch me if you can.

Saw Requiem for a Dream yesterday... it was ok, but not as fantastic as everyone said it is. However I was tired, and expecting something else.. I think i will dig it even more next time I watch it...
and now I know why people think Jeniffer Connoley is hot...
-
I saw 'About Schmidt' a while ago. Good movie. Very good. Jack Nicholson was great and the ending couldn't have been better.

last thing i saw was the 6th sense on the telly last night... was good, but it didnt blow me away. I like it once you started to see the ghosts, not that any of them scared me. For some reason i just never jump at things jumping out on screen! I must be missing that part of the brain or something, or maybe im such a total naturaly blessed film maker i can predict such a thing jumping out a split second before it happens!
As for the ending- am i right in thinking the boy starts to get over his problem when Bruce Willis tells him to listen to what the ghosts have to say... well wtf is he doing talking to Bruce if Bruce needs to tell him to talk to the ghosts!! Bruce is a ghost, he is talking to him, thus talking to a ghost you cant say... hey kidd i think if you start talking to these ghosts you will be ok.
As for what i want to see next... i still need to see the Two Towers, but two films i havent seen in ages i have a strange desire to see is Gremlins, a film i havent seen since i was like 12, and Tank Girl, which i seem to remember was naff but i still wanna see it again

I missed the Final Fantasy movie on Premier the other night, which annoyed me. I did however manage to see some weird film with Morgan Freeman, Chris Rock and a dillusional blonde lady, that film sucked.
I also watched Final Destination on Premiere the other night (seen it several times now) and realised I want to see the second now.
Last film I saw in the cinema was the Bond movie, although there's a few I want to go and see now.

Saw gangs of new york...yawn...it goes on for so long...the revenge plot is the same old Hamlet type thing...you killed my father....blah...I also hate americans with Oirish accents. Why not mr Farrel, marty? Top marks to Day Lewis though. Too bad cameron diaz didnt die or something.
Saw 8 mile. Yeah enjoyed it, it was nice and low key. It's eminem's life minus all the edges. Directed well though.
Saw Magnolia. I'm not really sure what all the fuss was about. I didn't really see the point of it. Perhaps someone can tell me.
Saw this thread. A good way to pass time since I've got a free class. I should be working on one of my films really.
-
Final fantasy the movie 's bad man. I almost fell asleep and one of me mates did fell asleep. Maybe if you're a hardcore final fantasy fan you'll enjoy it, i mean it's pretty and all but it's really a bad movie.
The matrix looks awesome.

just out of interest... what is the longest film ever made?

Saw Catch Me If You Can the other day. I though it was good. Nothing spectacular, but a very fun movie.
I had a sudden urge to watch The Running Man yesterday, and realised just how good the one liners are! "This man was Sub-Zero, now he's just plain zero!" Classic!
Anyway, gonna go see Final Destination 2 on Friday, when I think it comes out.
-
"Hey Christmas tree! Over here!!"
"I'll be back."
"Only in a re-run!"
That is probably my favourite one-liner movie of all time.

andy warhol's "four stars" is 25 hours long.
-
I heard the longest feature movie ever screened was 'The Cure for Insomnia' and it was 85 hours. Apparently just a bunch of **** and music videos. No idea who made it.
-
Weird it sensored p_orn. Especially since this is a film forum.

Hey there.
I watch pretty much every new cinema release and about 4 "older" movies a week.
Too many poor movies to mention. Best Ive seen lately is probably The Pianist/Punch Drunk Love. Worst was probably Real Women Have curves/Ghost Ship.
Great movies Ive seen on dvd this week have been Nine Queens and La Hain, Worst have been Ringu and Mystery Date.
Despin out.

Last film I saw at the cinema was LOTR:TT. And not being a fanboy of the books I thought it was a great film. For some reason the first film felt like I was missing out on a whole lot just because I hadn't read the book.
I'm tempted to see Gangs but will probably wait for the DVD and watch the 5hr directors cut -- the way Scorsese intended.

Noty going to happen. The film IS a directors cut. Extra scenes will be on the DVD however.
and yeah, that re-run onliner is brilliant. However the movie fails on all levels, especialy considering the brilliant book. Ide love to see it remade, allthough it would be pretty hard to top minority report, which is much the same type of movie. The ending of the book however would have to be altered i'm afraid.

watched pretty woman on the telly last night.
What was with Julia Roberts eyebrows? and is it just me or is Richard Gere really lacking any charisma in that film?
Im some what a hermit so i dont get out to the cinema much rely on TV films, theres usually a good one on every night if you have digital.
As for the Running man, i never relised it was a Stephen King book till recently, that sorta suprised me as i always saw it as an ok action movie but nothing special. Commando has the best cheese in any film ever never mind an Arnie film, go watch it!
-
Commando... the first action movie I have ever seen where people got shot. I was a young kid, and we were watching the movie at a childs-party.
I didn't like people getting shot in movies but Commando changed it with it's utter overdoing in shooting people. Aah... then the moment where I bought myself a couple of guns and went down on school children....
-
Hey there.
"As for the Running man, i never relised it was a Stephen King book till recently"
He published the book under his "other" name.
"then the moment where I bought myself a couple of guns and went down on school children...."
WTF?????
Was that meant to be a joke?

its a known fact violence in movies isnt enough to make people violent themselves. You need to play violent computer games and listen to either heavy metal or rap music aswell, once you do all of these things your a time bomb ticking away.
-
Has anyone seen Dog Soldiers? Some say it's the best werewolf film out there, and some say it's rather bad.
-
I live in Bakersfield.
And am deeply concerned about a "Running Man" scenario developing if not in my happy little town then in general.
What you didn't see in the movie (never read the book) is the years of erosion of the rights liberties and creativity that lead up to the events of the movie.
Songs are banned.
Controversial artists thrown into prison or worse.
"Extra bonus points for turning in family members."
-
Commando made you gun down school children, too? Life is full of coincidence.
Last movie I saw in theaters was Two Towers. I've been a fan of the books since childhood and Two Towers being my favorite one, I knew it too well.
Jackson said that Two Towers was the film that most deviated from the book, and he was right on. Weird characterizations, plot is all skewered, and the Aragorn-Arwen love is once again over-embellished.
I'm nitpicking though. It's not as good as Fellowship but its still cool. Not great, but cool.
That's the longest post I have ever done.

I just saw the Royal Tenenbaums, and I can't see why some people like it so much.
I found it boring, it didn't really have a protagonist to identify with and the jokes were a bit too weak for a comedy in my opinion. I had to laugh (more like giggle) a few times but that's it.
Maybe it's my sense of humour, but I find Orgazmo way funnier than the Royal Tenenbaums. If I want to laugh I rent a comedy. If a comedy doesn't make me laugh then it's not a good comedy. Although it was better than NOt another teen movie. GOd that one was horrible.
