Bogus! I hope some people were able to get it. I don't use angelfire for much except hosting MP3s for the HOD group. Looks like I get 5 gig. I don't know if that's per day or what.
Well, I'll leave this up for a while. Keep trying if you can. It' worth it! Mike Stern gets a little 'crazy' too. Good crowd that night.

I don't care what any1 says, ole Denny can still shred the arses off most guys out there - & his pocket is unbelievable...def 1 of the "Top 10," IM[H]O...just listen too ANY of those Scofield albums; & that "Unc Moe's..." - that'll say it ALL...yeah, his solos r flashy, but what the hay, man...to me, he is FAR from 'boring' as a player...he's more from the Cobham veign, but he even makes ole Billy look a lil Silly sometimes - [no off. to Mr Cob]...

[Actually, i mainly like his playing w/in the context of a band situation; altho that mp3 that was put up a while back had an interesting "flexya muscle" solo; but AFA solos go, i prefer a Weckl, Vinnie, Hakim, Will K, etc, 1...
But then i digress & rehash....

I really like Denny's playing. My only complaint in the 3 times I have seen him is that he does tend to be repetitive in his fills and in a solo context and I do not know if he was just having a couple of bad night's but the 2 times I saw him( with a band) he was real sloppy at times when he was really going for it. And the constant left to right single stroke fills well if you have seen them once you have seen them a thousand times. I would like more variation. But I sure do not mind insane over the top playing when in the right context and done with some originality. So Dennis more power to Ya! He is for sure a Great Drummer.

i just listened to this again. It's amazing. The ability to sit at the drums and try to express is something to be commended. Theres some nice improvising on here and it sounds like Dennis is really trying to go in various directions.
Improvising is hard. Playing whats in your head is hard. Relaxing, taking your time and really saying something on an insturment is very difficult.
Dennis is good at it.
