Hey guys,
I want your help to decide which springs I should get. I want something with a good spring rate and as minimal a drop as possible (I like ground clearance). I have pretty much narrowed my choices down to the Eibach Pro-kit or NeuSpeed/H&R SofSport/OE Sports. I will prolly get those KYB AGX shocks to go along with whatever springs I choose. Also plan for some 16x7 rims with 225/40's in the future. Need something that will work with this overall package.
Suggestions? Which is prefered? Eibach or Neuspeed?

I went with the H&R sofsport springs and ended up swapping them out, just like the guy that sold them to me said I would. I went with the Neuspeed sports and they worked really well. I have the coilovers now though. I don't think you can fit a 225/40 on a 16X7. You would need a 7.5 in the width to run a contact patch that wide I think. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I think a 215 is as wide as you can go.

What made ya swap em out fastfour? I have RS*R springs on mine right now and they are too low. I want something a little higher. I was thinking one of these two would suit me better. I want to stay away from coilovers.

MarkC,
I wanted a little lower stance and the OE's just weren't doing it for me. Wearing out tires really isn't an issue to me b/c my car is not a daily driver. I went with the coilovers just b/c of the versatility. I can slam the hell out of it for shows and put it back where I want it for the drive home.

Hey Mark, I don't know how much clearance you nee/would like to have but the H&R OE's list as a .75f/.75r and the sports list as 1.75f/1.5r I have actually ordered some sports to mate with my KYB's. I am selling my GC's and buying the springs, Energy suspension motor mounts, shifter stabilizer and sway bar bushings for about the same as what I am gettign form the coil overs. Here is a link to show you the clearance with the Sports that Cheeseman posted when I wanted to see the drop. http://honda-tech.com/cgi-bin/thread.cgi?thread=6813 It is just a tad bit higher then what I hve my GC's set on now. I ordered all the stuff from here http://www.cuaresma.com/pimotorsports/groupbuy.html He does buys on Group Buy Central but sells stuff a the low prices he has on the site. Good luck Mark and I hope this stuff helps. I don't know how low your ride is now but I have plenty of clearnce now and more on the way http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif

MarkC, I've got Eibach pro-kit and KYB AGX. It corners like a monster (compared to stock of course). My roommate was barely able to tell a difference with ride quality, but I noticed it was slighty bouncier when hitting large bumps. The shocks are easily adjustable and the drop is a little over an inch. Over all I am pleased, and would do it again.
Just be ready to buy a new rear lower arm(s). I had to drill/saw/tear/cut mine off to get the rear passenger side shock out. It was not pleasant. The bolt that attaches the bottom of the rear shocks to the arm has a very good tendancy to seize. It did not seize in the threads, but actually inside the bushing it self. Spent 3 days, about 6 hours each day fighting with it. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif
It was worth it though.

Go with some adjustables...raise and lower as you please...

Hi MarkC,
Why do you not want coil overs? I think this is the way to go for sure. I got GC's coil overs with Eibach Sports 350 lb front, 280 lb rear. I also installed AGX adjustable shocks. The car really feels very nice, corners beautifully. If you go with the coil overs you don't need to compromise on the springs at all. Just get the exact spring rate you want and adjust the exact ride height you want. Also, you can always change the height very easily. I think this is the best way to go. I did it once and I'd do it again too.

Hey C, you changing up on us? I can understand about the RS*Rs cause i have them myself. I know that Eibach is a good one and they don't drop the car too low. I used to have some on my old car.
-
Thanks all. I knew you would be the right ones to ask. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif
Upon further researching I have ruled out the Eibach's for price (compared to the H&R) and spring rate reasons (thanks to Lundgren's site). So now I am between the OE sports and H&R sports like Javin suggested. I looked at that pic Javin, and I think it's a little too low for me still. I am leaning towards the OE sports with AGX's right now.
Any more suggestions? No coilovers for me tho.

If you don't plan on lowering and raising the car often, and aren't going to corner weigh the vehicle for optimal ride height per corner, they I wouldn't spend the money for coilovers.
OE Sports are the best bang for the buck. the Sports drop the car so the tires sit flush with the wheel well, and yes you should get a camber kit, plus you will rub if you want to autocross it, at lease with the spring rates of the sports.

I personally liked my Eibach Pro setup. It handled pretty well and I didn't even have aftermarket shocks to make the ride a bit stiffer. It looked good but wasn't TOO low (like my new car, heh).
-
I have eibach pro-kit springs on my car.
I changed to neuspeed race for a little while, but went back to the pro-kits.
they are a good compromise. decent lowering and good ride. work okay with stock shocks for a while too.

Comptech sport springs are great. They lower the car about 1.4 inches (just right). They ride great (I think better than stock), and the handling is far superior than stock. It's what the dealerships sell to, so it can't be sh#t!

The problem with the Comptech springs is they are expensive, and in reality a 1.4 inch drop is more than what the stock suspension was designed for, or will handle with out making other changes. Just because it's comptech doesn't mean it's good. Take the comptech airfilter. That foam cannot be good.

I have a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs on my 96 Integra, and I'm very happy with them. The lowering was just enough that it got rid of the fender gap, and the handling (I still have the stock shocks) is EXCELLENT. Possibly just what you are looking for... price is right, reputation is great, and I'm sure that the other guys in this forum would agree. The ride is also excellent.
Launching is much more controlled... the car doesn't hop like it used too (I also have a strut bar up there).

markc: whaz UP!--hey foo jus get da HR OE cuz its a .75 drop and wid them phatazz 16s ya gonna roll wid its gonna be low enough for ya hoopdee! i wouldn't get them stupidshitz eibachs cuz they drop hella uneven by lots of peeps. mann, if ya going beyond a 1.5" drop ya better gets a camber kit cuz yo exp. azz shitz tires is gonna scrub down bigtime--believe that. plus if yo shitz is too low likes them neuspeed and other bullshitz coilovers ya aint gonna handle no better if ya driving da ba-itch on the streets...da streets aint no damn race track so hit'n a pothole or scrape'n on a driveway is for real...suspension will unsettle and yo azz is gonna be bounce'n all over the place like some damn rookie and who da hell gots time ta keep dick'n wid raise'n yo bullshitz up/down like some dumbazz lowrider. da real deal on coilovers is matched wid shorterned shoxs not them wannabe cheapie kits like ground controls...pleassse...good luck, bro.
peace.

I have the Neuspeed Sport springs on my Del Sol and Race springs on my Civic H/B. They are really nice sets.
I have a set of B&G threaded body coil overs for my new race car... and they are BAD ASS.
The B&G springs are made in Holland and are even better quality than the H&R or Neuspeed... they offer four different ride-heights for your car. Call me for the application for you.

I paid $159.00 for a set of Comptech sport springs, which I think is fairly reasonable considering a friend of mine paid almost $200.00 for a set of Eibachs sports. As far as being too low of a drop (1.3" roughly, it sits perfect). Just enough clearance all the way around. The techs at comptech informed me that the drop would not interfere with my alignment, but they always recommend it.

Thanks a lot for all the help guys. H&R OE Sports is the way I am going to go. It seems the best choice since I want to run 16's with 225/40's.
