True "happiness" ... is it possible? does it exist? is it even fathomable.... and if not, why is the whole world so hung up on finding it?
I think I've probably stated my soft-headed views on this subject in conversation, Hanny, but I like to think of happiness as a decision and not a found thing. I think it is a state of mind one decides to put oneself into, rather than something tangible or intangible that can be sought out or discovered. I inadvertantly made this decision in the tenth grade, when, having been steeped in depressive alternative rock music and dressing in all black for a year, I discovered that I had absolutely nothing to complain about, no discomfort or irritation in my life, and that things were good, really good. So, I kept listening to my depressive rock music and wearing whatever I wanted to, and refused to act depressed and troubled like my peers did at the time.
I'm sure this all sounds silly, but all the same, when a person focuses on the negative, that's all they are ever going to see. Somehow I managed to realize this, so the bad things never seem to matter much, while instead I make a big fuss over the good things and they seem even better than they did before. Bubblestuff and Slurpees top the list of things that [B]shouldn't[B/] be a big deal for me...

i agree with luna.
the search for 'happiness' is like the search
for the mythical 'one'.
(and this time i am referring to the person
as opposed to the number)
it doesn't exist. but it makes for good motivation.
but...but...I'm right here! And I aint mythical...
*sighs*
*weeps*
*walks away feeling dejected, inadequate...and hungry*
*see previous shatzy post*
*even deeper...serious sigh*
*hugs TG tight* you can be my mythical one...
*looks around, coughs, and hopes no one heard that*
hanny wuvs da kitty...
see da kitty puuurrrr.
I'll make you purrrrrr right before I shove it in your ASS... leave me alone you fucking beaver!@
save it for your forum, wanker.
it doesn't matter how happy you are, subconsciously you don't ever WANT to be truly happy because there'd be nothing left to aspire to. this is the same reason humans invented gods and higher beings...because the thought that we're all alone frightens.
hmmm....
i still believe that due to culture
(*cough*society*cough*)
where we were once animal...
we have evolved into a delightful creature
indulging in masochistic fervor...
but just because we like it.
by creating and maintaining such idea(l)s
as in happiness, it helps keep our victims
under control without much fight.
kinda like a paralysis bite the spider gives...
Blah, that is what I think.
I hate the whole Mr./Mrs. Right crap. I should go to sleep before I get banned from this place though. I have been in a bad mood for the past while and I think my view on happiness sucks right now.
I should probably stop, I am babbling now.
one must wonder:
are you temporarily detatched from happiness,
or are you merely awakened to reality?
i got my bets placed already.
*and nice to see ya again BD!*
I am happy all the time. Happy go-lucky, spank my monkey!
i thought you were giddy and excited?
has that time passed?

Which would you rather be?

*coughs*
that would be me
tg--
you see, both ultimately end in the
same conclusion: non-happiness or
the lack of happiness.
my point with the two options was
to determine which of the two you
(respectively) prefer to see yourself
as in relation to lack of happiness.
if you were asking me which i'd prefer,
i'd choose the latter.
to me, it is better to be awakened to
truth (for lack of a better word)
than disillusioned into further chaos.
