It could be good, could be bad...
I'm trying out new wheels/tires, Rota Circuit 8's (15x6.5) and Falken Azenis (205-50-15). We'll see if I can beat a 2.1 second 60 foot time.
My VAFC tuning has from 1-3% of fuel reduction between 4900 and 8000 rpm with no detonation, so I might have more power than my last time dragging. The only downside is tonight is street night so I can't uncork my headers.
Plus... temperatures should be in the 40's tonight and it's not windy.

do you have race gas at the track there??...fill up on that and advance the timing a little...and you can also take off the steering pump belt for a couple extra HP..it only takes five minutes...by the way a 2.1 60ft on street tires is good..I have never really been able to beat 2.1 with street tires on a regular basis...good luck!!!

I arrive at the track with about 3 gallons of 94 octane in the tank. Then I add a full bottle of NOS Race Booster.
With that, I can run stock timing (16 degrees) and 0 retard on my BTC.
My redneck track (last year at least) only bought one 55 gallon drum of 96 octane unleaded, which of course sold out immediately. Everything else is leaded except for the 94 octane they sell. I'm not counting on them having gas for me.
BTW: I do remove the PS belt.
I'm a pretty consistant 2.2 second 60' driver. I hit 2.1 a few times with Yoko AVSi's. Supposedly the Azenis are stickier. We shall see...

Sounds like you are all set already...two last things i can think of...you might do these already also but pump the rear tires up to max pressure and if you still have the AEM intake remove the fron turn signal...that 40 degree air works wonders!

Story of the night:
- Put the smack down on a lot of domestics. Mustang 5.0 with Cobra emblem and supercharged sticker (13.469 vs. 14.4), Lightning F150 (13.431 vs. 13.9), New Mustang Cobra (13.6 vs. 17.4), Ricey Z24 (13.404 vs. 15.6), plus one S2000 (13.480 vs. 14.5)for some fiber! [img]smile.gif[/img] All the drivers were cool.
- Got spanked on my last run against a Supra with a single turbo conversion. He had a 2.6 second 60' time and claimed he missed 2nd as well. Then, from way the hell behind me, right at the end of the 1320, the Supra blew by me like I was bus! (13.491 vs. 13.275 @ 126!!!)
- No new records. 13.40 best. All 13.4's at 105-106mph except for one run where I couldn't see me tach (sunset) and ran a 13.6 shifting on instinct.
- Best 60' time of 2.091. Most everything else was a 2.1. The Falken Azenis are pretty good. At least as good as the old Yoko's.
- It doesn't seem like the Kami 4-1 header is doing any better than the RSR 4-2-1 header I had last year. However, I had open headers when I ran the 13.3.
- The track actually had 100 octane unleaded, but I'd already done my booster trick and didn't need it. I'll try some next time.
- I gradually pulled 7% of fuel from 4500-8000rpm. No detonation. I'll keep pushing it on the street.

Do you rub at all w/ the circuit 8's and the azenis? I just ordered these and they will be here tomorrow and a friend of mine I talked to yesterday said they rubbed w/ his old A032's on his Del Sol. I'm kind of nervous. Guess I'll find out tomorrow [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

Jim: I'm pleased too with my consistancy. It tells me two things: 1) I'm driving well and 2) Without slicks or weight reduction, this is as fast as my car is going to get. I don't plan on either.
The Rota Circuit 8's and Azenis didn't rub, but I haven't autocrossed on them. I don't see how they could rub. They have a little less offset (-38 vs. -40mm stock), but I've had 215 tires on my stock wheels for a year and they don't rub ever.
Other tidbits from last night:
There's a crew of Jamaican guys from Hartford that run a lot of JRSC Hondas. They had 2 Civics with JRSC b18c1's and a JRSC 4 door GSR. One of the Civics broke an axle trying (stupidly) to launch on slicks with an 8000rpm clutch dump. When they didn't break, these guys were around 13.9.
Someone was running a crewcab Ford F350 diesel with tool chest! That earned them a free T-shirt for "Truck of the Night". It ran 17's!!!
There was a SOHC VTEC Civic with an intercooled Greddy turbo at 5psi that was really struggling to break into the 13's.

Actually the temperature started at 70 and worked its' way down to 45 or so.

ROFL! See how hard Supra's have a time launch off of street tires with that kind of power? [img]smile.gif[/img] Hehe, my best MPH that day to the track was 125 at lower boost. I know exactly how that passing by looks from the Supra side. Everyone had me the first 1/8th mile.
