ok
i finally got my dynoed. it was what i expect. About 135 hp to the wheels and 115 torque. The #s are not to impressive but i knew anyway. I will have a scan of the print outs later.
bye

man 2500 bucks for 30 horses. :shakes head in disgust: i'd take it off and sell it, thats silly.
Careful, it's easly to get 30 hp, it's much harder to get 40% more torque accross the WHOLE power band.

Since when did it become EASY to bolt-on 30 more WHP ???
Nitrous is the only "Cheaper" HP that you can buy... but not by much. If you do a proper N2O install, the initial set-up would cost about $1500.00... in case you are wondering, this price includes the base kit, a fuel pump, ignition with a timing retard switch and labor. Then you have to fill the bottle after every 15-20 passes...
I have a customer that fills his bottle every WEEK !!! At, $35.00 a fill, how long will it take to pay for a JR Blower ???
You either pay now, or pay later...

What I meant was 30 hp is easy, from a perspective. All you need are some high rpm cams, cam gears, and an ecu with bolt on mods. The total price would be less than a supercharger. Move the peek torque above 8,000 rpm, and boom (literally) 30 more hp. But the low end would suck.

well, if you snort some of that nitrous it won't seem like so much money.

BTW, My b16a2 with 20,000 miles on it in one day went from dead stock to 4-1 dc headers, type r manifold, overbored port matched throttle body, jg adj cam gears, type r cams, greddy exhaust, akimoto intake and DYNO tuning -- and it only netted me 20hp,
Of course, now I have a JRSC
Yeah, but did you raise the rev limit!
HP is a function of rpm and torque!

No, but graphing out a continuation of my dyno line it looks like I would have the rev limit at 9500 rpm to make 10 more hp.
Assuming it keeps increasing
And to not hit the rev limiter everytime, I would have to set it a bit higher than that.
Reddeosol...
How much did ALL of those N/A mods, including labor and dyno time, cost you ???

Lund, I was not trying to be arguementative... I was simply trying to state that increasing wheel HP by 30 is a monumental task when you are talking about a motor that only grosses 125 at the crank !!!
Regardless of the chosen plan, be it Turbo, Supercharger, NOS, or N/A, all of these avenues are expensive and labor intensive. As a matter of fact, making the high power levels with N/A parts that we "FI" guys generate is typically MORE expensive... and the only real advantage that a N/A guy has over a FI guy is when he lifts his hood and says: "Well, all that I got under here is this little 4 cylinder and a few minor bolt-on parts."

It was around $3000 parts & labor, dyno time.
I didn't spend much time hunting down a good deal. (obviously
If I were to do it again, I would have carefully chosen the type of cams I used.
Probably would of cost more though.
