So the shooting schedual is getting nailed down, cool! I just hope they are going to use the talent they have here. I would hate to see another Wolverine and the X-Men movie.

Check this out:
"The other exciting news in Alan land is that he's been cast in X-Men 2 as Nightcrawler. He'll begin shooting in Canada this August. The Bryan Singer film also stars Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman and others."

interesting! what do you think?

Agreed...though I get the feeling that's exactly what we'll see...Logan's just too damn popular! Hope Alan can steal the spotlight...if anyone can...he can...as an actor and as the character. Kurt's one of the more popular X-Men...and he looks so darn cool I bet he'll win a few new fans when the movie comes out...assuming they handly him right.
What I'm afraid is going to happen is that Nightcrawler will have the one big moment in the begining, and the rest of the film will be other characters looking for him. (And so we don't see much of him.)
I don't wanna see another Logan-Heavy movie either, but it's quite likely.
I'm starting to get worried with all these new people being signed...now we've got Kitty Pryde and Lady Deathstrike to cut into Kurt's potential screentime!
Hopefully...from our point of view anyway...Kitty, Rogue, Bobby and John will get screentime akin to Bobby in the first one or be sorta like the New Mutants in XME...and Kurt will get the sorta time that the other X-Men got...though he might just end up like his 'mum'...
Seeing as how he's probably gonna be wanted for the attempted assanination...I mean how can a guy that looks like him hide...I'd like to see that resolved by the movie's end...or he'll be forever on the run!

i'm affraid that might be possible, i mean, it happened in ultimate x-men, "big dramatic entrace" but the rest of the story i barely saw him
I doubt it...they wouldn't have signed such a big(ish) name for the part if he was only gonna be in it for five minutes...my guess, going on the 'leaked script'...Charles and Scott are gonna get captured by the bad guys...Wolvie's stuck baby sitting while Jean and Ororo go looking for Kurt...the bad guys attack the school so Rogue, Bobby, Kitty and John rise to the fore to back Wolvie...Jean and Ororo covince Kurt to come back with them and the trio arrive just in time to give Wolvie and the kids some much needed back-up...then the four adults go off after the bad guys to rescue Scott and Charles and save the day...
Or something like that...
Hmmm...looks like Colossus, Beast and Gambit are gonna be in there afterall...but as cameos...lookey here if you must see...
cool! colossus and gambit!
awesome!! *eyes wide open*
Lady Deathstryke will be played by scorp?on king's Kelly Hu, check this in www.comicscontinuum.com
The main possible problem I see is that either Kurt is, visualy, is either end up looking particuly cool...or particuly bad. Its useualy very much hit and miss when it comes to full visual effects characters.
However things may be looking good as todays special effects are particuly nifty, personly i'd go with some sort of body suit/paint with CGI touch ups.
Well, I've got high hopes now that we know for sure that he (at least for most of the time) wont be an all-CGI character.
which is a good thing in my opion, entirely CGI has a good chance of not working as well as it could.
While todays CGI tech today is very nice even at its best it rarely looks 100% real when interacted onto live film (Star Wars Episodes 1 and 2 for instance).
CGI enhancements on a live action actor in some form of body suit/make up would work much more effectivly.
Looks like continuity has been sliced&diced in true wolverine style...X-fan reports the following synopsis:
"The X-Men reunite again as Magneto breaks from jail, and Henry Gyrich is revealed to be alive working with Military Officer Agent Stryker to build Sentinels. The X-Men also recruit 2 new team members, Gambit and Nightcrawler.
Whether this is the final plot for the sequel remains to be seen, as the script has undergone recent rewrites by screenwriters Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty.
X-Men 2 begins shooting today at the Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The film is scheduled for a May 2, 2003 theatrical release."

Gambit hmm? Military Officer Agent Stryker?? And lady deathstryke? This should prove interesting...
I agree. As much as I like the Spider-Man movie, you can just tell which scenes are CGI. It may not be as pronounced as the new Star Wars movies -- since they are almost ALL CGI -- but it's there. I just hope they don't overdo any CGI they use for Kurt.
awwwww check this X-men evolution comic is going to be canceled!!! no more evo kurt in comics. www.x-mencomics.com/x-fan
Hey 'Scrawlers! (or is that Scrawls?)
While out BAMFing about the www, I came across the official X2 page, nuttin' there but a kinda cool flash, but it's up! and info should be coming in pretty soon, I heard that we might see a teaser in July.
Anywayz, here is the site

I wish that they would hurry up and get some more art previews or storyboard drafts up, it's driving me
There's a promo card up at Superhero Hype...the front of it's just the X2 logo, but the back's got pics of the returning cast...Hugh, Anna, James and Halle on the left...Patrick, Famke, Ian and Rebecca on the right...and four 'pixalated out' sections marked 'classified' in the middle...we know one of 'em's gonna be Alan...but the other three?
It's here if you wanna see it...
Also...in a current issue of a DVD magazine I get, they were talking about the upcoming DVD release of Minority Report and when they talked about the disk's special features...
"The disk also promises to have a very special preview of an upcoming film that is so tightly under wraps, that to speak its name would get me into even more hot water...**Cough**X-Men 2**Cough**."
That'll probably be about 6 months away...by then shooting should have wrapped and they'll be into post-production...so we might see some good stuff...
The same sort of thing has also been promised for the X-Men ~ Special Edition DVD due around Christmas...
oh geez, for a second there i got excited and i thought the pic of Mystique was him, it's so hazy anyway... hmm... lesse, one of the pixelated pictures is gonna be Nighty for sure, plus Shadowcat and Pyro... i guess the fourth box will likely be Iceman, or since they have villains too (tho, the ones they show will apparently fighting on the good guys side this time round) maybe Stryker.
oooo.... guess i will have to get the Minority Report
I'm gonna have to go make friends with people at movie theatres in case they have those superkeen 5 foot tall banners again...otherwise I'm going to have to lay down $150 for the Nighty one, I'm sure...
WOW, that's really happening, NC's in the X2 movie!!!
Yuppers, it's really happening. Though I would dearly love to see Nighty, I know it'll be a while before we see any promos of him. They'll have to rush to get AC though makeup. I'm sure he's getting/has already had a body cast done. *shivers* I hear those suck.
I have high hopes for this movie, and when I heard "Stryker" I had thought it might be great -- thinking "God Loves, Man Kills." Now, however, I'm starting to worry. Lady Deathstrike? Gyrich? Sentinals? It's starting to sound like they might get too complicated for this to appeal to the masses. That would be bad, to understate it.
Yes, body casts suck. Depending on how much they need for the cast, you can't move, and if they're doing a cast of your face, you breathe through straws in your nose, and you have to stay compleatly still the entire time, or the cast will come out wrong and they have to do the whole thing over again.
And if you're doing an at-home job of casting your face you gotta grease up your face first, and then your eybrows and eyelashes STILL get stuck in the plaster!!
Non that I'd know about that sort of thing... (whistles)
Or when you let the straws slip and suddenly can't breath. But yet you can't move or it'll screw it up and you have to do it over. So you hope the one straw that's still half-way in can provide enough oxygen. I think that would suck too. Heh.
Don't ever try to cast your dad either. Especially when your dad has a mustache. Oops.
Dark Horizons have been given a tour of the X-Men 2 sets...first they talked about Magneto's cell...but then they went on to this...
The next set was the White House set. This one was also nearly done with some of the props in place but not all. A quick tour revealed the ease at which set designers and builders can make wood look like tile flooring and walls. The set is your basic White House-West Wing style set with the hidden doors in the walls and some impressive walkways and so on. One thing that seemed out of place was a separate room that appeared to be a very dirt bathroom, complete with cracked plaster and dirty wiredglass windows.
Looks like Kurt going after the President just might be for real...is the dirt(y) bathroom where Kurt 'ports to to escape security? Or, as the site thinks, something to do with Weapon X?
The whole thing is here in their news for Wednesday, June 19th 2002.
Actually, you can grease your eyelashes and eyebrows too, makes sense to me...
*eyes wide open* OOOOOOOHHH! maybe it is, and i didn't believe the white house scene when i read it.
